The 6 Nations starts this wekend and for the next few weeks we will thrill at Brian Moore lamenting the stupidity of forwards in the scrum, be amazed at the tendency for Richie Gray to resemble a character from a D.C. Thomson comic, gasp open-mouthed as Wales string together a brilliant passing move only for George North to mis-time his run and end up in a wall of opposition, avert our eyes from the sheer bloody mayhem of Paul O'Connell in the ruck, giggle helplessly at the failure of France to play constructively, and sigh with anguish for the battering that Italy's hopes receive.
Who will win this year? Will England finally triumph after 3 years as runner-up, or will Stuart Lancaster be reduced to recalling Wade Dooley and Dean Richards as the injury list continues to mount? Could it be Ireland again, still fearsomely, relentlessly strong and with Sexton's kicking as dead-eye as ever? One last hurrah for Wales, with Priestland showing what intelligent half-back play can be? Maybe France can find that flair for more than a few moments.
Our poll runs till Saturday night only, to give us all a chance to see the first round.
