Good heavens, Michael Buble singing at Hove, whatever next? The County ground is part of his unique summer tour of stately homes, castles, other unusual venues and us. A cut above the rest of the crooners today, Buble is worth a viewing. Congrats to Sussex for expanding their musical wings. The concert is on August 7th. When the cat leaves for The 100, the mice come out to play. Roll on the Rolling Stones.

Good heavens, Michael Buble singing at Hove, whatever next? The email from Sussex this morning was headed "What a signing" and went on "Michael Buble is coming to Sussex" My question was is he an opening bat, but I subsequently learnt he was some sort of singer.

Some of these 'Brexiteers' are dragging British politics into the gutter. Such a rude and intolerant response to someone with opposing political views, especially when he was doing a charity gig. Very sad, IMO.

A sure sign that cricket news is thin on the ground. Go on have some fun. Mushy and Adams just miss out.

Fb,
Such a rude and intolerant response to someone with opposing political views...
To repeat, a terrible misjudgment by Nish Kumar.
As an evangelical vegan, you don't give a talk to The Confederation of Yorkshire Butchers telling them how awful eating meat is and that everyone on the planet should turn vegan. Expect the odd steak and shoulder of lamb being thrown at you.
If you are telling anti-Brexit jokes today then choose your audience carefully.

Are you assuming the Lords Taverners audience was predominantly 'pro Brexit'?

Fb,
The headed bullet points for the Daily Mail article included:
Nish Kumar:
: Ranted about Brexit, British imperial rule and Prime Minister Boris Johnson : Did praise former Commons Speaker John Bercow, who was in the audience : He was eventually persuaded to leave and members have complained
His rant wasn't just about Brexit. Perhaps, it is a comic set more suited for a left-wing influenced University/College or the London elite.

There's nothing wrong with butchers but you wouldn't hire one to address a vegetarian conference. If you want an uncontroversial evening, then hire 'one of your own'.

Fb, When you dig in to this story more deeply, Kumar is the only one to blame. For apart from his rants about Brexit the Daily Mail writes, "The booing started when he shared his scathing views of Boris Johnson and then on imperial British rule. Video footage from the event, shared on social media, showed the extent of the heckling... Kumar reacted defiantly and told the audience he was going nowhere apparently implying the audience were 'thick' for not sharing his views." To add flavour, Kumar, promoted to the £149 a head luncheon audience as "undoubtedly the UK's hottest comedian", has a past and is no stranger to controversy. Earlier this year he said on the radio 'the architects of Brexit are a cocktail of lying racists and buffoons'. And last December he gave a platform on his BBC 2 late-night satirical news show The Mash Report to Steve Topple, a left-wing journalist who promotes antisemitic conspiracy theories.

Dan Redford's tweets specialise in the cricketing archives. Here is one for Sussex supporters. Some illustrious names here.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Michael Buble tickets are now on sale and after wading through all the different hospitality packages, finally we get to us, the plebs. First, these tickets are all standing, so no seats, where second class are £79.50 each and first class (Gold Circle Standing - whatever that means) are £192.50. Perhaps, the audience pose on velvet? These prices include a 'service charge' by ticket seller AEG of £9.50 for the cheap seats and £17.50 for the posher standing ones. They must post the tickets in a gold envelope. More oddly, anyone under the age of 18 years-old must be accompanied by an adult over 18 years-old. So, if you are 17 years and 11 months old, it is then legal to be accompanied by someone aged 18 years and 1 day. Meanwhile, there is no support band. Buble is advertised as a "Grammy-award winning global megastar". I will probably give this concert a miss. The globe is a small place today. sussexcricket.co.uk/news/evening-michael-buble-tickets-sale-now

This is impressive, but I wonder how many of our players will be injured and cricket-weary, just as the 2020 season begins.
