Let us hope Gillespie can re-sign Alex Carey for next year's T20 Blast, so we can see 'dreamy' shots like this again at Hove. In the opening match against Sydney Thunder he struck 45. He captain's the side too in the absence of Travis Head.

In a hit and giggle comp that no one has heard of? Really? Do it on a world stage against proper bowlers and I might be impressed.

Phil Salt's disappointing start to the BBL09 continues. In his second match for the Adelaide Strikers he scored just 2 runs whilst all around him made hay. Although, he did make up for his performance with a stunning catch almost as good as Sussex team-mate Chris Jordan's the other day. Meanwhile, the Strikers gained their first win after beating the Perth Scorchers by 15 runs and stand third in the early table. live.bigbash.com.au/match/2404/46305/adelaide-strikers-men-vs-perth-scorchers-men-kfc-bbl-09/scorecardPS: Guess who caught Salt to get him out? Yep, you've got it, Chris Jordan.

Monty is now posing as a travel correspondent and with those glasses looking a little like Alan Whicker. There is also some history thrown in too if you watch his other videos. Good ol' Monty, you can't knock his enthusiasm. twitter.com/MontyChannel

Meet the Head family. Perhaps, Travis's Dad will fly over to Hove next Summer and spend some time in Sussex? He comes over as a really proud father and so Simon should be. Another century notch on his son's career path. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/50923514

I do not understand some of the criticism aimed at the cricket New Year's Honour List. I can see why the "anti-100'ites" are miffed at Colin Graves being awarded a CBE, but for God's sake we won the World Cup, the first time in England's history!! Meanwhile, I am delighted that former England/Kent wicketkeeper Alan Knott has received an MBE and West Indian Clive Lloyd a knighthood. They are two of my favourite past players. Here is the compilation of the full Honour's List. www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/new-years-honours-list-in-full-a4322181.html?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1577486888edit: One of the many many reasons why 'Sir' Clive Lloyd's knighthood is so apt.

You sound as if you're dismissing a minority cult when you refer to "the "anti-100'ites". Let's not forget that over 90% of cricket fans are against the Futile Ton, whose advocates are themselves a cult minority.

I think the Hundred could be in big trouble with the huge advertising campaign that has kicked off for the coming seasons TwentyTwenty. Every time I turn on the radio I hear "looking forward to 2020" or "have a great 2020", then I walk through Smith's and many of the items have 2020 stamped on them. Basically you can not turn in any direction without seeing 2020 scrawled somewhere or hear someone talking about upcoming 2020.
A major anti 100 campaign as I see it, have no idea who has masterminded this but they must be a genius as rumour has it they are doing it with an almost non existant budget.

I reckon some of the England batsmen should take a good look at this photo. A case of Monday rather than Tuesday.

Jimbon, A major anti 100 campaign as I see it...Free publicity is always the best, but I don't see the T20 needing this publicity as the competition is already strongly set-up, will continue to grow and, imho, not be affected by The 100, certainly, in the first two years of its existence. As for The 100, come the Spring I expect to see a blitz of advertising and promotion begin. A PR Agency will have been chosen by then to mastermind the publicity and one can see millions of pounds being spent each year, perhaps, three times as much money as the T20 has ever experienced (Back in May, the ECB stated that £6 m a year will be spent on marketing the new tournament). A sunny 2020 summer will greatly benefit the tournament to find its feet and while all eyes will be on the ground's attendance figures as well as the TV viewing figures, exciting and close matches are essential to attract the public. www.prweek.com/article/1523808/ecb-looking-pr-agency-promote-new-cricket-formatwww.telegraph.co.uk/cricket/2019/05/15/ecb-hundred-farce-latest-want-women-fans-launch-picture-blokes/
