Oh well, that's it then. No visits to the Hove cricket ground, no VIP events or special cricketing moments, but onward to being the Duke and Duchess of Vancouver. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51040751

Yep, the black widow has her prey just where she wants him.
A quote from Piers Morgan's latest column about Harry and Meghan. To put it bluntly, she's an unsavoury manipulative social-climbing piece of work who has inveigled her way into Prince Harry's heart and used his blind love as a platform to now destroy everything he once held so dear.
She's caused a tremendous rift between Harry and William. She's ruined Harry's reputation with the public as a hugely popular fun, carefree soul, turning him into a miserable-looking, virtue-signalling laughing stock.
And now she's ripped him away from his beloved grandmother, the Queen.

Imitating the Australian decision to produce 'retro' cricket shirts, Sussex CCC return to the past and their 1993 Sunday League shirt colour.
What is not clear is whether these will actually be worn by the players in future 2020 OD matches? If not, then this is little more than a stunt to fleece the most enthusiastic Sussex supporter. There is even a deadline placed to purchase one. Are they a limited edition set? Shame on the Club if true.
How many cricket memorabilia collectors are there today? Ask the Club Museum. Answer: Very few.

Some sad news to relay sent by SCF Chairman, Jon Filby. Dear Museum Trustee, Volunteer, Member or Patron,
The following notice about our friend Neil Beck will appear on the Sussex Cricket website in the next day.
All of us at Sussex Cricket are saddened to hear of the death of Neil Beck on January 1. Neil died peacefully at home surrounded by his family, following a long illness very bravely borne. Neil’s life was in books and especially in cricket books. He worked all his life for the local authority in the libraries department where he was based mainly at the East Sussex County Council at St Anne’s Crescent, Lewes. At Neil Lenham’s instigation, Neil who had run a cricket bookstall at the Saffrons, began selling books at County Championship matches at Hove in the late 1990s and he developed what became one of the very best cricket book selling outlets in the country. Neil was always easy with people, and the cricketing public and ex-players sought him out for help with their collection. His knowledge of cricket books and Sussex cricket memorabilia was second to none and he will be sadly missed at Hove and around the county. Our thoughts are with Neil’s wife Sue and son David.
Neil’s funeral will be held at St Nicolas Church, Pevensey at 1130 on Friday 24th January to be followed by light refreshments at the Priory Court Hotel in Castle Street. All of Neil’s friends from Sussex Cricket are encouraged to attend. I know that his family will be very pleased to see as many of us as possible at Neil’s Funeral.
If you want to send a card or letter of condolence to Sue, her address is: Ivymead, Castle Road, Pevensey, East Sussex , BN24 5LG

Answer: Very few. Shame on the club? Fleecing Sussex supporters? I’m sorry but what? For once there is something in the Sussex club shop that I want to buy. I’ll happily part with £30 for this absolute work of art.

No-one's fleecing anyone. Purchase of these shirts is entirely optional.

On reflection, I was a bit OTT with my views on this retro shirt. I agree, it looks great, but I felt the Club were simply copying the Australian idea from over a year ago purely for financial benefit. As I then queried whether the Sussex players would wear this particular shirt for OD matches in the Summer as the Australian National side wore their retro one for the ODIs in 2018. This makes far more sense. www.wisden.com/stories/public-vote-to-decide-retro-australia-odi-kitCertainly, the Club have an opportunity during the RLC tournament, although it is unclear whether Royal London are still sponsoring this now county 2nd XI competition. It would be great if Sussex asked supporters to vote for their favourite shirts from the past as did Australia and then wear them for particular 50 over games.

What a thought-provoking video.
Is this allowed in the rules? If so, why don't more keepers do this in T20 games?

The next Adelaide Strikers BBL match is at home against the Melbourne Renegades. You can watch it live on BT Sport and for the intrepid the game starts tomorrow (Sunday) at 4.40am. Captain Travis Head returns to the squad after Australian Test International duties, but Vice-Captain Alex Cary leaves for ODI commitments. Meanwhile, Phil Salt must find another 50 score to seal his opening position in the team after inconsistent 'all or nothing' performances. It is imperative the Strikers return to their winning ways after 3 losses on the bounce even with Rashid Khan back to his magical best, accomplishing a third career hatrick during the last game. www.adelaidestrikers.com.au/news/skipper-among-two-inclusions/2020-01-11www.adelaidestrikers.com.au/news/preview-strikers-v-renegades/2020-01-11
