The 'Brighton Fringe' Comes to Sussex CCC Hove Ground
______________________________________________________________
Only a month to go before the 'Brighton Fringe' begins and Sussex CCC have joined in with May’s fun and games by hosting two
different events - a theatrical interactive dinner experience and a comedy based on a 1940s radio show.
Some of you may have attended the long-running and successful ‘Faulty Towers’ dinner and the Australian Company behind it,
‘Interactive Theatre International’, have produced a new but similar show called ‘The Wedding Reception’ which will premier at
the Hove Ground before touring Ireland and then performing at ‘The Edinburgh Fringe’.
The Wedding Reception
The advertising blurb says, “They may share the names of the world’s most famous couple, but this Will & Kate are far from Royal!
Their dream was for a small intimate wedding, but with everyone else planning exactly the opposite, the couple eloped. Now it’s the
date of their original wedding day and they’re back for the big reception where – like it or not – everyone is invited... Be one of the
guests at the wedding reception as their story unfolds around you. It’s a roller-coaster journey full of fun, frolics and just a few shocks
and surprises. But, in the end, there’s cake!”
The event includes a three course dinner as the actors interact with the diners as part of the show. Tickets are £39 a head. Start time
is 7pm. Duration is 2 hours.
Dates: May 1st and 2nd: May 8th and 9th.

The second event is a comedy based around a 1940s radio show called ‘Radio Blighty’s Idle Hour’. The marketing blurb says: “Rip-roaring
1940s radio for stage comedy - Radio Blighty broadcasts latest episode of adventure across airwaves with spiffing songs, corking commercials
and live sound affects.”
Radio Blighty
The event lasts an hour and is being shown on 12 different nights throughout May. Most days have a matinee too. Tickets cost £10 each except
for the first night on May 13th (£5).
Dates: May 13th, 17th and 24th (8pm only). Both nights and afternoon matinees: May 14th-16th: May 21st-23rd: May 28th: May 30th-31st.
(3pm & 8pm starts).
