Surprised to see no thread for this T20 game that has already started - let me hope that it is because you are all watching the game
That man Vince is at it again - he likes to score against us - am I right in thinking he was born in Sussex and chose Hants?
Let's hope for another close game with Sussex taking away a win from under the Hants noses

I just found the commentary on the BBC web site, I can listen to the T20 whilst sitting here trying to work. I'll be thinking of you watching at the ground enjoying your favourite tipple(s) and all the razzmatazz RHB took a catch but Hants are streaking away

Hamilton Brown just missed a wonderful chance to get a run out. Both Hampshire players up the other end and he tries for a direct hit instead of throwing it to Brown.

Hants do not seem to bat long - Coles at 6. Beer has been brilliant, where is Fraudster to extol his virtues and ask why he doesn't play more red ball cricket. I would like to see more of him in the four day game.

Not a great start, 7 - 1 after two overs. Letting Smith bowl the first over for 1 has already built up some pressure.

Smith the destroyer - of all people to take lots of wickets for not much runs I would not have put him down. Zaidi in next - he has had a few chances, lets hope he chooses today to deliver the match winner

Nothing so far for Zaidi, 7 off 7. commentators are describing it as fizzling out when there are still 6 wickets. why don't we have some big hitters to come in a bit lower down the order. Zaidi must be thought of as a big hitter to be in now, we still have yardy and the hero from the other day (Yassir) and now Joyce has gone, pressure built by 9 off 10.

I've said it many times, we need to add impetus to our T20 batting order Use the money we're saving on Jordan's salary to bring in a second OS. If we don't, I can't see us going far in this competition. We won the first two games in unconvincing style, got mauled by SL, and came up short in this one. We lack a middle order go getter, something that's compounded by the missing Nash, Prior and Jordan. This game really has to be the one that sees Zaidi back in the stiffs, what did he offer tonight?

Really couldn't summon up much enthusiasm for this match after the morale sapping events of the last 36 hours which have so tarnished Sussex's 'family club' reputation.
Predictable result against one of the best T20 sides in the country who have made finals day four years running, but were still smart and ambitious enough to strengthen by adding Coles, Shah, Abbott and Smith to last year's squad, with Maxwell yet to arrive.
I'd say that unless Lou Vincent's chums can persuade them to throw a few games. Hants are nailed-on to qualify for the finals for the fifth year running and are also virtual certainties to be LVCC Div Two champions, so no shame in losing to them. You could even argue that paradoxically Sussex played better in defeat tonight than we did in the two rather fortuitous victories last week.
Plus I find it hard to begrudge victory to a club that has proudly decided to call itself Hampshire CCC in all competitions this year and to have no truck with the silly and vacuous T20 nicknames so beloved of most county marketing departments.

Sussex had to be consistent throughout to beat top dog Hants but they weren't.
Positives. Good to see RHB finding some form. His batting shone, two good catches, pity about the lost run out chance. Joyce scoring his 50 but far too slow. Brown is showing more consistency. Beer had excellent game.
Negatives. Sloppy bowling at start allowed Hants to get off to a flyer. Liddle is just too inconsistent. Poor last over. Why not try Lewis? Zaidi not a big hitter. Why is he in the side? Piolet poor... The curse of winning man of match award previously. Sussex never dominated at any time in game... Always chasing.

Sussex never dominated at any time in game... Always chasing. I think that's a pretty good summary. From a spectators' point of view, I thought the Hampshire innings was quite entertaining, and until the last 5 overs, we always looked as if we were in with a chance. If Joyce had stayed there, we might have got closer, but credit to Hampshire's death bowling. It was not a warm evening. To my untrained eye, the crowd looked about the same as for the Sri Lanka match - or possibly slightly less. Here's a question - is the size of the crowds in future matches likely to be dependant on Sussex's results?

To my untrained eye the crowd seemed a little less than previous 2 T20s. Who knows? let's see if they pick up In June. Weather may have a big part to play and England's success on the field.
