However, it doesn't look as if the team that did turn up should present many problems to Essex, or others. Must be missing a vital ingredient.

I attended a day of Surrey v Derbyshire at The Oval two years ago. It wasn't until I got home that I noticed on the scorecard that the visitors were in fact Middx.

About twenty years earlier, I was at a B&H match between Surrey and Worcs. The scorecard bore the Prince of Wales crest and the Warwickshire bear & staff.

It wouldn't be county cricket if it wasn't riddled with errors.
