And a ton for Machan at three - 70 odd balls and 76 runs in boundaries. Slacker should have got it before lunch. Now there's taking your chance, bludgeoning the oppo right in front of the skipper. What a knock, great start to the day. Some lucky people will have actually seen it.

Reminded me a bit of that knock by Rory HB a few years ago, which I was lucky to see. I still can't believe we'll never see him play in a Sussex sweater again.

Disappointed to see Joyce get out when well set and Cachopa fail when there was a golden opportunity to score big with the team on 192-2. As I type Wright out. We're in real danger of not scoring 400 which would be absolutely criminal from 161-1. Sloppy performance from Sussex and hardly the ruthless cricket Robinson was demanding.

To collapse from 161-1 against the weakest team in the division is very, very poor from Sussex. I would take 350 now!

Okay a bit of a poor finish as it's turning out, granted. But with everyone shunted up the order to accommodate losing two players we always looked a bit weak in the middle. Maybe it's always been tricky and Machan was just outstanding, for all I know. I know that I won't cast any expletives until two teams have batted, that's generally my rule. I'm just glad Machan's done so well really.

We maybe without Yardy and Nash but to be bowled out for 345 is not good enough from 161-1. We needed more from Cachopa, Brown and Zaidi. Worcestershire in the game when they shouldn't have been. 280 from Machan, Wright, Joyce and Shahzad with less than 50 (excluding extras) from the rest.

A disappointing end to the innings, but they need to put that behind them and get stuck in. We can still win this. If just one player steps up, in every 1st innings I think we should have a pretty good season.
