Anyone know the estimated return of Shazhad? Must win game this one especially with the visitors struggling. Win the toss bat first and play positive cricket please Sussex

Setting up a thread for discussion of this match. I was gonna say good work Moddy 1 but I've seen more interest at an Emu convention. Shahzad played for the seconds the other day I believe so he should be able to muster four in your face overs and a quickfire 20 by Friday, hopefully. We've only had him five minutes but it seems like we've missed him. Big game.

Good to see that we're selling out stand seats, at least, despite the well-advertised weather forecast:
TICKET UPDATE: Seats in the Pavilion SOLD OUT for tonight and only literally a handful of seats remaining in the @herbalife SW Stand #GOSBTS

My XI would be: Nash, Wright (c), Jayawardene, Cachopa, Machan, Yardy, Brown (+), Beer, Robinson, Piolet and Mills.

Sorry to upset JF and those who think saying anything other than 'Sussex are great' is disloyal - but my primary loyalty is to the truth. Yet again the batting tonight has been shell-shockingly pathetic. Minus the highly-paid Sri Lankan import, the rest of 'em managed 87-9. #putrid

What an absolutely abject putrid performace. Feel sorry for all the Sussex faithful who turned up to watch such sub-standard rubbish.

Bordermans statistic of 87-9 says it all. I'm afraid too may of these players are dinosaurs now in the 20/20 format. We are light years away from even threatening to qualify . The whole format has passed us by. Batting and bowling is exposed game after game, If Skipper Wright and Jaya don't score its curtains.
Our bowling attack is also picked off to easily. All very depressing and the worst thing is I have no solutions !
I feel sorry for the crowd tonight, dear oh dear ....

But we can't afford a batting coach!

My first game of the season, well, at least it was pleasantly warm and didn't rain and I got a nice cup of tea for £1.30. The batting was pretty abject, the bowling distinctly average at times, two good catches towards the end but the game was done and dusted by half time. Oh, dear, we have been poor for years now, is it worth me coming again?

Another pathetic performance from what is the poorest Sussex team I have seen for nearly 20 years. This shambles cannot be allowed to continue for any longer. Instead of allowing the batsmen to feel sorry for themselves Robinson should be giving them a kick up the arse. My question to them is do they want to remain as a professional cricketer or would they rather be working in MacDonald s asking would you like fries with that? What is clear that wholesale changes are needed to the playing and coaching staff as clearly promoting former players to coaching position has not worked. We have not won anything for six years and if we carry on like this we will end up relegated. We need a coach like Gillespie to shake things up.
