We do not have a hope in hell's chance of progressing in this competition, so I'd like to see us use the remaining games to prepare for the only competition, I believe we have a chance of winning. If we can get our team and tactics ready for when the fifty over stuff starts, we might do OK in that one

Really? At 104-3 with six overs to go and Cachopa on 50, we should win this...

Fantastic partnership between Cachopa and Machan and an excellent fielding display and bowling performance. To beat the top side in their own back yard is a great achievement. Hopefully we show this sort of determination in the second half of the season.

Huge congrats to Sussex for a much deserved and needed win.
At 14 for 3 it was game up but Cachopa found form and Machan rediscovered his and their 148 unbeaten partnership reminded one of Sussex in their pomp. Beating the best T20 team in the land only adds to the satisfaction.

Also, check out this interview with Mark Robinson after last night's game. Some fascinating back-story about the present team. The positive influence of JW; how much he and his family have enjoyed being at Sussex and are returning (presumably for a holiday) after the CPL; George Bailey arrived on Friday and will be playing Sunday; Concerning news on Nash and his need to visit hospital for a drip (what's that all about?); and general relief that Sussex are back to winning ways.audioboom.com/boos/3297732-sussex-cricket-manager-mark-robinson-after-t20-win-injury-news-update?playlist_direction=forwardPS: BBC journo Adrian Harms has really portrayed his skills and professionalism this season. He has that knack of asking pertinent and probing questions but without sounding critical. He's also a lovely guy.

Normally have an annual family trip to see my county play a T20 match at the Ageas Bowl. Sadly deprived by the fixture list this season, so with an excellent weather forecast, we decided to take in the "El Classicoast" last night. Many congratulations on your excellent (and somewhat unexpected) victory. Sussex seemed really sloppy in their pre-match fielding routines, so rather surprised to see the intensity of their fielding during the actual match. Really enjoyed seeing Tymal Mills for the first time. Wow! How does he manage to bowl that quick with a bad back? James Vince looked in great form and I rather think that the match turned when Yardy snared him with an intelligent piece of bowling aided by a smart stumping. Could only see one winner when you were 14 for 3. However, the partnership between Cachopa and Machin was really well measured and they gave an absolute masterclass of quick running between the wickets. Thought that Cachopa was meant to be sadly out of form earlier in the season. Certainly seems to have found where the middle of his bat is! Anyway, hope that this helps to lift some of your apparent doom and gloom. Footnote. My advance tickets (three adults, one under 17 and one student)= £82. Car Park = £10. Round of drinks (2 pints and 2 ciders = a quite staggering £17.80. Add in our M&S picnic/nibbles and overall Dad's evening treat out cost around £150. Thoroughly enjoyable but perhaps reminded me why we make it a one off outing each year. Rather disappointing crowd of 7,200, but I would suggest that there are some obvious reasons why!!!
