Crane dismissed Sangakkara and Solanki on his T20 debut last night after taking five Sussex wickets the day before. At 18 he and Weatherley, who has back to back hundreds for Hampshire 2XI, look fantastic prospects. It wouldn't surprise me if these two join Tom Alsop, who scored 195 in this game, and off-spinner Brad Taylor on the Hampshire staff next season. All four are fantastic prospects aged 20 or under.

Thoroughly deserved. If Sussex had had faith in him at 13, as Hants did, we wouldn't have had to sign Danny Briggs!
