Kent have played one more game than Sussex in this tournament and they have one win and one no result. It looks as if everything that went will for Tymal Mills in T20 goes against him in this longer form, and George Bailey doesn't seem to have brought much more than his reputation with him, so perhaps now is the time for some changes . Either Magoffin or one of the Academy seamers would bring something fresh to the bowling, and Zaidi could come into the batting to see if he can transfer some of that second eleven form, and also bowl some useful containing overs.

I wonder what the plan is for Mills. Will his contract be renewed? If he can't bowl in championship and is now overlooked for one day games, surely he can't be a full time member of the dressing room? You have to feel for the guy, such a promising talent cut down in his prime by a freak of anatomy!

What's cutting all the others down?

Absolutely pathetic from Sussex. 1 win in the last ten. If Robinson was a football manager he would have been sacked by now. It's time for Robinson and Joyce to be replaced as coach and captain!
Mills is contracted for 2016.

Kent opening batsman Joe Denly: "We clearly had the best of the pitch, so you'd say it was a good toss to win at 10am.
"When I turned up this morning it looked a belter, but what do I know?
"As it turned out, it was a bit damp at the start but our lads up front bowled beautifully on it. We were on it from ball one and put them under pressure from the off.
"Then, chasing a low target, we felt it was right to make a positive start and thankfully Daniel and I managed to do that."
Sussex head coach Mark Robinson: "When you lose the toss and bat on a pitch made damp by early morning dew you need one or two things to happen - to play well, have a bit of luck and for the opposition bowlers to give you a few early gifts.
"None of that happened for us today.
"Kent bowled well and we didn't have too much fortune. Had we have scratched 240 together we may have had a chance, but it wasn't our day and fair play to Kent."

I think we should take the positives out of this, that should take less time than a formula one tyre change. Robbo has to say something but the best thing he could say now is goodbye.

When you run out of credible excuses , probably time to ask a few soul searching questions about whether you are the solution or have become part of the problem?
