How is it that we can have 506 views on this thread yet only 15 people vote?

How is it that we can have 506 views on this thread yet only 15 people vote? Good question, Joe. Part of the difference is explained by those of who have voted, but who keep coming back to view from time to time. That might account for say 100 views at the most, perhaps. Beyond that, either folks: 1. Don't have an opinion. 2. Believe that change is necessary but think that voting is 'disloyal' to the club they love and cherish. 3. Don't think that any of the suggested alternatives is the right answer to the club's problems. 4. Don't think that change is necessary. I reckon there must be a lot of people who read this thread who don't feel sufficiently engaged to express an opinion. Of course we all have the right to abstain, but I would be interested to hear from any of the abstainers why they haven't either voted, or expressed an opinion on this thread.

How can anyone not be sufficiently enraged to express an opinion?

How can anyone not be sufficiently enraged to express an opinion? They might not be Sussex customers/members/fans. This board is open to anyone to view, I believe. If I wandered onto another county's MB, I doubt I'd want to get involved in such a direct criticism of that county's management.

While this poll may be about as representative of general sentiment as a ballot organised by the RMT, it is hardly a ringing endorsement of the status quo. HHS' post about Machan's inability to play spin highlighted two problems at once - we don't coach batsmen and we don't play spinners. Joyce's reference earlier in the season to the dressing room being 'a quiet place' does not suggest players being fired up before a game. Some won't need to be of course but some will, and it's the art of man-management to get the best out of your resources. Shazad was fired up earlier in the year, but only by himself.
