It's still possible we offered him a contract and he chose to stay at Kent. Anyway, I see Tredwell isn't playing for Kent again, is he injured or are they looking long term with Riley? I still wonder whether he may be available despite signing his new contract in the winter. That was the point I was making, that his agent played Sussex along and then went back to Kent saying "Sussex are prepared to pay X, what will you do?" Riley is playing against Glamorgan and at last getting some wickets. He has gone backwards for most of this season but they clearly see him as the future, and Tredders isn't really delivering either. I'm sorry we couldn't keep him last season: it might have been different for him and would certainly have helped us keep control while our battalion of star fast bowlers fell down or bowled no-balls. I think we have to look elsewhere to make a fresh start. |

Take a look around the counties, there's only a handful of spinners who have done anything this season, and I can't see us getting any of them |
