Monday 16th November is one of Sussex's three reciprocal days with Plumpton racecourse. It is their Pompadour raceday the French racecourse with which they are twinned. There is a six race card offering £35,000 of prize money with the feature race being the first of five SIS sponsored Cheltenham bonus race worth £11,000 where if they win at Plumpton and then go on to win at Cheltenham in March they will qualify for a £60,000 bonus. The other four SIS races are on 30th November, 14th December, 3rd January and 15th February. Gates open at 11:30 and the first race is at 1pm. Very important: Please note if you are travelling by car from the North that the level crossing is closed and so you need to approach from the south via Spatham Lane and turn left at the Half Moon Pub OR via A275 through Cookesbridge and then turn right into Offham Road and then turn right at the Half Moon Pub when you see new temporary yellow AA sign. plumptonracecourse.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Map-and-Directions1.pdf

Two winners and three other places there coverpoint Brave Jaq went out too quick and faded badly into 3rd. Le Mercurey was an impressive winner and a genuine contender for the £60K Cheltenham bonus if it runs in March. Mr Muddle and Laughton Park ran well but were narrowly beaten into second. Maria Choice was another impressive winner. The winner of the last won by 15-20 lengths. Amateur jockey DG Noonan had a very good day winning two races. Sam Twiston-Davies also won two races with Leigton Aspell and Gavin Sheehan winning the other two.

We have £38,000 of prize money including £10,000 for the feature race which is the last of five SIS Cheltenham bonus races and a class handicap hurdle worth £8,600. Thanks coverpoint. There doesn't seem to be any promotion of this on the Sussex CCC website. Can anyone confirm if this is a reciprocal day? May renew my membership before next Monday if so to get some benefit from the lack of any direct debit or relegation reduction this season.... I can confirm Monday is a reciprocal day for Sussex and Goodwood members to see Monday's race meeting for free on production of a valid membership or badge. There are also two other reciprocal days for Sussex members later in the year in October and November. Sheena West's Cannon Fodder which won so impressively at Kempton Park on 27th December and Gary Moore's Torero look the pick of the entries so far. In the last it looks bit of a lottery with not much previous form there but I am going for Suzy Smith's King Charlie. In the first David Pipe's Bella which won at Ludlow would be my tip although Lucy Wadham Ruby Rambler which was beaten by Willie Mullins impressive horse Myska at Taunton and Nicky Henderson's Chocca Wocca have a good chance of winning if they declare. The entries in the SIS bonus race and the Novices Ltd Handicap Chase have yet to be confirmed although we are expecting Gary Moore's Ar Mad to run in preparation for Cheltenham. Finally, please note the level crossing has now been re-opened.

Thanks for this Coverpoint. Although I pay my life membership upgrade by direct debit, I have yet to receive my 2016 membership card. Will I be able to gain entry with my 2015 card?

83 entries confirmed for Monday with one added to the second and seven to the fourth.
My tips for Monday:
2:00 Bella 2:30 Ar Mad 3:00 Cannon Fodder 3:30 Ya Hefed 4:00 Torero 4:30 King Charlie
I am plumping mainly for local trainers with Gary Moore's horses in the second and fifth, Sheena West horses in the third and fourth and Suzy Smith in the last with the Pipe / Scudamore combination in the first.

Thanks again coverpoint. An opportunity missed by Sussex to highlight these close reciprocal benefits. Their most recent Tweet reads All of our membership packages offer great value cricket, but do you know the other benefits of being a member? ow.ly/Y4mMC
but the link to Membership page gives no details, says "Race meetings to be confirmed"
