Perhaps they're waiting for the DoE and batting coach to arrive before amending the website?

Blimey, I felt exhausted just reading about it! Think I'll stick to my comfort zone . . .

Mark Robinson's England Women's management career off with a flourish as England beat South Africa in the first of three 50 over games, a D/L win by 6.3 overs, and Sarah Taylor scoring 41 not out. The England Women's team has fallen a long way from the heady days of Ashes supremacy and probably is in need of a rebuild. 24 year old Anya Shrubsole was the pick of the bowlers with 4-29.

Taxi for Robinson? An inauspicious start to his coaching career so far. England have contrived to lose an ODI and T20 to South Africa for the first time. Although the other countries are clearly improving there has been a dramatic decline in England's fortunes since they were put on professional contracts. Make what you will of that.

To be fair, I think the decline had set in well before Robinson was appointed.

Yes I totally agree Flashblade I was merely stirring However the decline in the ladies play since they turned professional is quite alarming. Personally I think they have stuck too rigidly to a group of players who performed in the old era and were deemed to be worthy of reaping the new rewards. It has seemed very hard to get dropped from this squad at times. A whole new approach and search for younger players is needed. The upcoming World 20/20 may well be the end for many illustrious careers.

The England Women's Academy squad to play a tri-series against similar representaive sides from Sri Lanka and Australia contains plenty of fresh names, and some familiar ones. www.ecb.co.uk/news/articles/england-womens-academy-squad-named-1There is Sussex representation from Georgia Adams and Frey a Davies, whilst James Kirtley joins Tim Boon as assistant coaches.
