Quite a few negative comments on this forum but lots more have visited the page and there have been many positive comments on Twitter. So here is a chance to cast a completely anonymous vote, Open until the end of January so that everyone gets a chance to express themselves.

My vote is not anonymous. Crass decision. Yes time will tell, but it's un imaginative at the very least. Luke has to rise above it all.

Sorry I think a poll is irrelevant. I wish Keith all the best just cheesed of with leadership of club. When relegated told Robinson is the man to take us forward and he wants to. Said he is leaving and Davies appointed. We are then told unlike previous statement Davies was always going to get job. Because of such a poor season many staff concerned about there jobs but they cant believe it they are promoted. Keith was very clear he will have nothing to do with first team cricket. ( So do we know what he will do.) However if Davies wants something he will ask Keith and not CE. Keith will then ask CE. To me it is another line of middle management that cant make decisions and money would have been better spent on playing side. Without doubt below CE on non playing side there is not one, very strong personality and I am sure they will all be saying yes to him.

As nobody else was even considered for the job in the incestuous, parochial, small-minded 'family club'/closed shop sclerotic mentality that is so suffocating at Sussex CCC, what is the point of this poll? As s&f informed us last November that Greenfield had been promised the job, the three month wait for the announcement is taking the piss.
Joke appointment by a joke club whose relegation was more the fault of the incompetent management off-the-field than the players on it.

Thanks to all those who voted - once again a good cross-section of the users of this forum covering the frequent posters, the occasional posters and some who never post but often visit and take part in polls like these. For the latter group that is probably a vindication of why we sometimes hold polls, to allow people to express themselves in their own way. The way that individuals voted is not known, of course.
The results are quite stark: nobody endorsed Greenfield as an obvious choice, although more than 1/3 are prepared to suspend final judgment and see how he gets on in the job. It should be a concern for Sussex as they embark on their new strategy with a new sports management structure that they have failed to get their message across to a group that feels so passionately about the game.

In principle, we could put aside the fact that KG is one shallot short of a boeuf bourgignon intellectually, but could someone please put up a case forward to his aspiring to such a lofty position other than the fact that he poses no threat to his superiors? What am I missing here?
