Could there be one last fabulous farewell to English county cricket from KP? If Surrey can get the last two Leics wickets, they could be chasing 200 plus to win in the final session. It's tailor made for Pietersen to stick it up Strauss, Harrison and Graves one last time. Who writes his scripts?

This is absolutely brilliant - Adolf Hitler on Pietersen, Strauss and the ECB. I urge everyone to watch it. Whichever side of the debate you are on, it will have you in stitches: www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNexLoG19rg&sns=twAnother version of one of my all time videos, have you seen the original and best, Gordon Brown's downfall, Glasgow East by election part 2. Even Derby County is laughing at us lol. This is good too mind, someone call Jonation Trott, ha Ha.

Should have just dropped the twat. All this hassle has come from an unnecessary sacking. Ship of fools.

Superb piece of journalism by Morgan. He didn't get to be editor of the Mirror without an enviable capacity to turn a memorable phrase and a forensic ability to craft a polemical narrative of compelling potency - skills that don't get much of a look-in on Twitter.

Ian Bell appears not to have a "trust" problem with KP:
Per BBC website -
"When asked by BBC Sport if he trusted Pietersen when he played with him for England, Bell added: "We all did. We had a good team that won a lot of cricket together and you don't do that without trust, without looking after each other and playing well. I enjoyed some great partnerships with Kevin in the middle order." "

Belly wants to be careful what he wishes for though, his 'four spot' should be the most vulnerable of the middle order - Mr Scores Runs When it Don't Matter. I like Bello though, despite that little barbed slight on his credentials. Mind you, runs don't matter it seems. It's possibly more to do with whether you're up for stroking Cookie's lovely mane of hair - somebody ought to tell the man that the 80s are long gone - and they were hideous when they were current, according to archive.
The only way all this wouldn't rumble on is if we were playing Zimbabwe and Ireland this summer, but Australia, butter my arse. I don't even like KP and have long said he should be playing for SA not England but even yours truly, Mr Cool, is getting all hot and bothered.

Having a quick browse of the media this morning, support for KP is growing. Even Nasser Hussain, usually a staunch ECB supporter has come out against the Strauss decision. www1.skysports.com/cricket/news/12173/9849494/england-not-good-enough-to-leave-out-players-like-kevin-pietersen-says-nasser-hussainSomething may give soon. Call it wishful thinking but if the furore continues, no doubt stoked by Morgan and the 'Back KP Campaign', don't be surprised if Colin Graves does a "no-nonsense Yorkshireman" and demand for KPs return. Remember, he is not even the official ECB chairman yet. I believe he doesn't officially take up the post until next week. Graves must be seething about how he's been let down by Strauss and others after his 'clean slate' comment. The last month has been a shambles for the ECB and Graves must grab the situation by the throat. Reinstate KP or at least give him future hope and England can move forward. If not, the rancour and ill-feeling can only get worse, especially if England are beaten by NZ and then humiliated by Australia. English cricket lives through extraordinary times and at such periods extraordinary decisions need to be made. PS: My gut feeling is at the root of the problem is Giles Clarke. It was interesting that Strauss said at the end of a recent interview that he was carrying out ECB orders. That line of authority begins and ends with Clarke. Let us wait and see what occurs after Graves officially becomes Chairman. Amusingly some in the ECB are now describing the acronym as 'Explaining Colin's Blunders.'

Let us wait and see what occurs after Graves officially becomes Chairman. Amusingly some in the ECB are now describing the acronym as 'Explaining Colin's Blunders.' I cannot see how Graves has been "let down" by Strauss and Harrison. Whatever may or may not have been said in the exploratory meetings with Vaughan before the appointment, it must have been very clear on what conditions Strauss would take up the job, and that includes his feelings about selecting Pietersen. To appoint Strauss must have required Harrison going to Graves and making a very strong case for why Strauss would be the right person for the job, and what the implications of that appointment would be. Graves was at fault earlier for one of a number of thoughtless quotes he provided to enterprising reporters, and digging a Graves-trap must now be one of the anticipated delights of any journalist or broadcaster. Those who thought that Graves with his independence of outlook, strong Yorkshire plain-speaking etc etc was the kinght in shining armour come to rid the land of the dragon Jabba can now see that a vainglorious marketing man has been replaced by a loud-mouthed businessman straight out of Brass. Bradley Hardacre, played by Timothy West, would come close to our Colin for a blithe lack of self-awareness combined with a passion for efficiency that will always backfire. I remember worried miners' wives, on hearing the news that there may have been a tragedy, gathering at the pit, when Mr Hardacre arrived. "What news?" they worriedly enquired of him. "It's a bit dusty outside off stump but Len Hutton is still there." I don't take seriously the idea that Giles Clarke is still calling the shots over Pietersen. He has much bigger fish to fry with the ICC, where he would really like to put one, or several, over Srinivasan, and his ECB Presidency is largely a vehicle for him to remain in the Great Game.

Wow! Boycott now moves the story forward during his 'Cricinfo' podcast 'Bowl at Boycs'.
He says he has known Colin Graves and well for many years and cannot understand why he should say one thing (clean slate) to KP and then do another (you're not wanted). Boycott says Graves is an honest man and cannot comprehend this decision. He says, "What sort of organisation is the ECB if you can't believe the chairman?" Boycott sounds genuinely upset and shocked by Graves actions and moots, perhaps, that he may have been overruled by others within the ECB. As he continues, "The ECB is a shambles. We need clarity from Graves. This is not the sort of thing he would do."
Boycott says the excuse given by Strauss and Harrison that Graves was misrepresented by the media is not true. If Graves had felt that he would have stood up and said so. And this doesn't concur with KPs version who said that Graves told him on two occasions there was a clean slate and an opportunity to return to the England fold.
Graves takes up his Chairmanship tomorrow (Friday), so I will repeat, do not be surprised if something out of the ordinary may occur next week. Boycott suggests we will hear Graves side of the story once he is officially installed as ECB Chairman. A proud Yorkshireman does not like being made a fool of and "if" he has been overruled and against his wishes expect the consequences.
Imho, there is an ECB power struggle afoot where pride and ego dominate.

Who the frig's sposed to be in charge of all this nonsense? Too many chiefs, complete shambles and I agree that this stuff won't go away easily. Who the hell is Harrison and what is the point of him? Honestly, Harrison, Strauss, Graves and Jabba before you even get to captain and coach - what are all these office wallows doing? Nothing from the same script, I know that much. Has it always been this way? Bunch of numb-nuts.

Haven't felt this excited since waiting for the winner of the X-Factor finals!? What will Graves say. Nick Hoult states it was Alastair Cook who threw his toys out of the pram stating it was either him or Pietersen. Surely, there is no choice? Who wants to watch "a dreary 15 runs." Never has there been a time in England cricketing history where a newly crowned ECB Chairman faces such a severe crisis in the English sport. Presumably, he will have to support Cook which means Boycott has an open book to deride and chastise. Or will Graves dare say "there was a misunderstanding with the comments he told KP?" What a mess! Meanwhile, the county Chairmen are calling the present situation a "debacle" and no way will they accept a T20 Franchise given the overwhelming weakness and vulnerability of the present Board. This is better than any soap opera a top TV writer could come up with. Welcome 'ECBenders' (the pun is intentional!)
