Do we have a back-up plan if he does end up pulling out? I very much doubt it and we'll be left with the scraps. Middlesex got Bailey I would of been happy to get him back!

How many winning appearances did Bailey make for us?

How many winning appearances did Bailey make for us? None, nor did Jayawardene, and Taylor doesn't look any better! They have all been great batsmen but are all either past their best or don't have the passion for county cricket. We would have done better with an up and coming player who is still hungry for the game, who wants to perform at all levels and who would have been a lot cheaper.

When is he available to play in the T20? That is the £30,000 question my friend.

Some answers provided here www.theargus.co.uk/sport/14501683.Homesick_Rahman_to_delay_arrival_at_Sussex/ and perhaps a bit more clarity after a few weeks of speculation. Certainly there are some significant statements here that have the ring of truth: “We have to understand he is a young lad who has been away from home for a long time in an environment where he doesn’t speak the language. “We always knew he was likely to miss the first two games so it is a case of whether he misses an extra game or not. “He’s proving how good he is out in India at the moment so we’ve done very well to get him on the deal we have as I don’t think he’ll be quite so cheap in the future.” All of those comments come from Luke Wright, so the one thing that still isn't clear is: who has responsibility for recruiting and managing players' contracts? It should be either Greenfield or Davis but Wright seems to be much more forthcoming and open with the media. So if its all true, we might see him when Kent visit on 10 July.

Hhs, You just beat me to it. Overall, good news. It could have been so much worse. And Luke confirms the nickname "Fizz". Interesting how Wright is becoming a major and important spokesman for the Club. That would never have happened under Mark Robinson's tenure. Also, interesting that Steve Hollis is blossoming more, now Robinson has left

Still no definitive arrival date then?
With Sunrisers going through to the play-off stages in the IPL and the final at the end of the month he's not likely to be home till early June. How long will he need at home? Will he have the nessesary visas in place? Will he demand more money? Has he changed his mind about coming? Will he go to the CPL instead?
I'll believe it when I see it.
Meanwhile we've got a superb left arm quick on the staff already for T20's in Tymal Mills.

And RCB will also be in the play-offs so don't expect to see CJ any time soon either.

Same as the way he plays - there's no dissembling and I trust the words that come out of his mouth more than those uttered by anybody else at the club. But joe makes some pertinent points here. June 10 v Kent is vaguely suggested as a debut, but by no means confirmed and if he's "homesick" then a few days with the family in early June before he's back on a flight to Heathrow aren't going to cure him. I hope he comes and I believe Wright's assurances are genuine. But I'm with joe - I'll only be convinced when I see him bowling in a Sharks shirt. As for s&f's comment about Steve Hollis, I'm sure he's thoroughly enjoying being able to write honestly and frankly, free from the fear that he's going to get bawled out by the control-freak Robinson every time he pitches up at Hove...

and in the meantime? I feel, if we were at all serious about this competition, we'd have brought someone in to cover this period, as other counties do Yes it's short notice, but it happens so often that counties must have alternatives lined up for just such an occasion Why couldn't we have considered young Jordan Silk, already playing in Sussex, he'd have been a good fit. OK, not a like for like replacement, but with worries about the skipper, adding a bit of top order oomph, wouldn't have been such a bad idea

I hope the Sussex powers-that-be are reading this board, get on it!

Plays club cricket here on Tier 5 of the Govt's points system - but that doesn't permit him to play at a higher level.
