A much better weather forecast for this one, Saturday in particular. Will Luke Wright play? Will Ben Brown and Craig Cachopa have thrown off their niggles? Will we see Jimmy Anyon bowl? Will Danny Briggs have more fun bowling at his erstwhile colleagues?

As far as I can see - and I'm sure others will step in - apart from Vince and Dawson this looks like a fairly strong Hampshire side. www.ageasbowl.com/cricket/news/hampshire-name-squad-ahead-of-friendly-against-kent/No Sussex names announced yet. Hampshire: Tom Alsop, Michael Carberry, Will Smith (c), Sean Ervine, Adam Wheater, Lewis McManus, Ryan McLaren, Chris Wood, James Tomlinson, Mason Crane, Brad Wheal.

Tweet from Luke Wright:
Luke Wright @lukewright204 60m60 minutes ago
Been ask why I am not playing today in the warm up match. Just had injections in my back. Nothing serious, will be fine for the first match

Stil no Anyon. I would be astonished if he plays for Sussex again : we last saw him nearly two years ago in June 2014 and sadly we've been here before with Amjad Khan...

Have Davis and Wright decided Wells is now a middle-order bat rather than an opener?
Sussex can't seem to make their mind up about opening batsmen. Joyce, Nash, Hamilton-Brown and now may be Wells have all been up and down the order like a yo-yo...

Not a single update on the cricket from Sussex today, but lots of tweets about Sid the bl**dy Shark at the Amex!

No you missed nothing, Joe. The source was Hants not Sussex. Dave Brooks set the precedent that Sussex don't work weekends when he used to skip off every Sat and Sun, even when Sussex had a home game, to play for Cookham!
