I received my Playfair 2016 Annual. Looking at last year's averages, I noted that Basil Akram's sole first class innings in 2015 yielded: a duck. As things stand he could therefore rocket from the bottom of the averages in 2015 to the top in 2016. I think he's in decline. He started with 160, then just scraped to three figures with exactly 100, and followed that with a very disappointing 87 yesterday!

Interesting. You may have your wish borderman - Basil Akram is currently a triallist, and playing today for the Seconds against MCC Young Cricketers.www.totalcricketscorer.com/TCSLive/TCSScorecard.aspx?id=44450
The number of bright ideas Mark Davis has borrowed from this forum this season he should be paying us a per centage of his salary... ditto Chris Adams and the fees for his Argus column!

Reviving this thread from last year, and it seems that Mr Akram is again making an early impression. Yesterday he took 5-54 for Loughborough MCCU as they bowled Leicestershire out for 194, the pooorest return of any of the first class counties engaged with university opposition yesterday. Perhaps this year he can consolidate and get himeself a county place to follow on from his uni matches. www.espncricinfo.com/mcc-university-matches-2017/engine/match/1068511.html
