Ooh - Corn in Egypt ... a wicket for a seamer!
I haven't played at Kidderminster for 43 years, but I do have a vague recollection of it not doing much ..... if anything!

Cachopa and H-P go cheaply, WAT Beer now in , Finch moves on to 81.

Purely from scorecard evidence the Sussex innings seems to be going exactly the same way as Worcestershire's innings, with big stands followed by a cluster of wickets to the spinner. In this case the left-arm spinner Twohig seems to have bowled reasonably economically and has the wickets of Salt, for 94, plus Cachopa and Beer to show for it. If it is such a thankless pitch for the seamers as others have suggested there is little we are going to learn from it that will help the first team in their greatest need, though the innings of Wells and Salt once again, and of Finch tell us who the form batsmen are. Cachopa's failure to cash in suggests either appalling luck or that we have made a disastrous mistake in relying on him as sole back-up to Brown.

Back in the country for the summer and to watch some cricket.
Things don't change too much here do they? howardh still doesn't rate Beer. hhsussex bemoans the seamers. What better surface to learn to bowl on for any bowler than a flat one? Makes them have to think how will I get a wicket? fraudster, ever the clinical, slightly off (wacky) but always interesting views. Batters on seaming wickets, watch the ball. That's how you learn. Not flat one for batters and green ones for seamers. Life is meant to be challenging. The good rise the less good find something else. Looks to me that Beer is rising with Wells, Salt and Finch. Good to see Wells get some runs. His runs are worth more than his wickets. Someone said to me the other day, if Wells had got a thousand runs last season we'd have stayed up! How true that is on reflection. So Luke if you read this, bat don't bowl, you're not good enough to do both good enough.

Slightly off? How very dare you.
Battered 'em. I was hoping Beer was gonna get a 9fer or summin but the mug only got two - 2-22 off seven, that's 7-78 for the match. Any takers? Didn't think so. Get him in.
Good to see young Whittingham steam roller 'em with four though, especially on a 'seamers graveyard' (they say). Salt and Wells again at the end and young Salt smashed his 26 off eight balls.
Nice work lads. Enough there for Wright and Davis to take note of for sure.

Wow, what an amazing performance, as Sussex Seconds pull off a stunning ten wicket victory against Worcestershire. Spearheaded by Luke Wells, Sussex bowled out the midlanders this afternoon, before knocking off the required runs in great style Well done Sussex Seconds, you've cheered me up a little

Well played the mighty 2's. Especially pleasing to see Wells in the runs and the wickets. Special mention in dispatches to Beer, Finch, Whittingham and Salt. Who said the cupboard was bare?

A heartening result, indeed. Looking at the scorecard, it would appear that 23 were scored off the five balls of the last over. Presumably, Salt scored all or most of those. I assume we must have been in a hurry.

Well played, lads.

We thought you had gone into hibernation, but perhaps flown south for the winter is more accurate.

There is probably no thought of signing Shafique as reserve keeper as we released Jackson because we couldn't afford one. If Brown gets injured Cachopa would play and so he needs as much practice as possible.
