Helm looks unlikely to play any further part in this game, judging by the hobbling round the nets.

Any chance of getting Gubbins and Franklin out? Briggs? Briggs wicket. It's like a century it only comes once every 100 years!

It looks as though we have an ideal balance in the side for T32 cricket.

Great first win for Sussex in this competition and very fitting that Jordan should take the final wicket as part of his 5-28. We are going to miss him in 32 over matches...and 20 and 50.

Great first win for Sussex in this competition and very fitting that Jordan should take the final wicket as part of his 5-28. We are going to miss him in 32 over matches...and 20 and 50. Yes, very convincing win and a few potential white ball selection dilemmas settled for the next few games at least - Salt jumps ahead of Finch and there can be no prospect of Cachopa taking the gloves from Brown due to his 'superior' batting. On my arithmetic Brown scored 31 of the last 46 runs. The idea of batting him at three in white ball cricket should be suspended - batting at six he might just be the white ball lower-order 'finisher' Sussex needs to shepherd its long tail of five bowlers. And if Sussex only play one spinner - as they did the other day - Beer has jumped ahead of the disappointing Briggs. But technically I suppose we are still seeking our first 50 overs win since 2014! on edit: Beer's 25 dot balls in seven overs is an absolutely outstanding stat...

Finally, the 50 over bogie is squidged, squashed and splattered. The purists might complain it was only 32 overs but who cares... This was a 50 over match format which Sussex won. Our first win in 14 games. Our Forum talked about Salt coming into the team and he did and promptly hit 81 runs. Taylor is now the solid, consistent, overseas player scoring another 50, even though he was injured with cramp and required a runner; whilst Brown played a much needed cameo at the end with 31 runs off 23 balls. Once more Jordan was superb and won the player of the match award for his 5-28 in 6.4 overs, whilst Beer was outstanding with 2-34 off seven. Presently, he is outshining his spin competitor Briggs. A very satisfactory day's play where the weather was more suited for early April than mid June. Let us hope it warms up for Arundel in 10 days time. Brrr... www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/947397.html

Superb batting performance from young Salt and equally superb bowling from CJ.
A thoroughly enjoyable, if cold, day of cricket. GOSBTS!

Oh no, if true that is not good. Word in the Pavilion was cramp. Time to check Twitter.

Five batsmen, two reckless, two out of their depth. Think again mate. So Salt finally gets the nod after being wrongly dropped after scoring a 12 ball 24 in his one T20 game. Well done young man, trust in the youth. Better balance, better batting and about as good bowling with five bowlers and Nash results in a much needed win. Balance is key, mentally. That rhymed suckers. Jordan, Beer and Garton the stars with the ball again, beautiful. Brown's 31 came off 13 balls not 23 S&F. If Taylor is out for Tuesday's trip to Surrey we need to get Wiese in, which will help the balance further with him at six or seven. Maybe Joyce could come in for Finch to take Taylor's slot but I'd rather us keep faith with Finch. Unlike others I'm not so keen on Joyce at four or five. If he plays he opens and glues, for me. He scores well enough and is in good touch, it's the job of Nash, Wright and now Salt to score the boundaries in the initial power play. Well done Sussex, the love is back. Don't f**k up the balance ever again, though.
