Excellent result. I didn't expect that at all. Well bowled and good partnership to steer us home from Messrs Taylor and Machan.

Is anyone pleased with Briggs' bowling figures?

Superb win - a must win. We're still in the tournament. After the first 10 overs it looked dead and buried for Sussex.

Is anyone pleased with Briggs' bowling figures? He got man of the match as well. His caught and bowled wicket was a very good catch low down. I thought Machan was very calm tonight good to see from him, knew when to hit big at the right time. On another note can Salt stop with the silly reverse sweeps/paddles please?!?!

Is anyone pleased with Briggs' bowling figures? I had him in the eleven tonight - well bowled. More of that and less of the other and fewer people will slate him. No player who lets a few crazy fans on a message board get to him will go far though Flash, with regards to your post elsewhere. Anyway, needed that alright. Chasing was quite a brave move from Wright and when the Middle were 70-1 from five overs or so, well, let's just say there was a different word floating around my nuggit. Seems like an exceptional fight back headed by the spin triplets. Well bowled, well chased, well done. Back in the game, which is all we ask. Yes, on closer inspection five consecutive wickets from either Briggs or Beer ripped the heart out of this innings - that will please Wright immensely.

Fb,
I had a brief chat with our Chairman last night who is a regular reader of this Forum. He explained that it wasn't so much Robinson's decision to sign Danny Briggs but more Davis and Wright. In fact, Jim May emphasised that the most keen to sign Danny was Luke Wright. May agreed it had been a "frustrating and stop start season" for Sussex.
I affirm your view that it isn't right to directly criticise a player for their bad form. Some Sussex cricketers read this Forum, so they should be supported rather than pilloried. If there is blame attached it must be the coaching staff for not bringing out the best in that player.
Therefore, I am delighted for Briggs last night and his MOM and 4-24. He began with little confidence but this grew as the wickets tumbled. In fact, it was a remarkable performance from Sussex. Middlesex were scoring at almost 11 runs an over close to the half way stage but then contrived a batting collapse even more dramatic than one of Sussex'.
Around 4,850 attended the game including Matthew Hobden's two brothers Charlie and George. An interview with them will be published on the 'Wicked Cricket Blog' early next week.

I've been pretty scathing of the team in recent matches, so a big well done Sussex last night
