Early indication that the vote has gone 16-3 in favour of the T20 franchise. So that accounts for all 19 counties? Edit: I understand that the MCC also gets a vote.

Bloody brilliant. I am more excited than a (add phrase). I note the YAYS were 16-3 for. One NAY would have been Surrey - who were the other two? Was one Sussex?
Makes up for the loss today.

Joe,
You're right. Lizzy Ammon confirms this. How disappointing. Lizzy's tweet then gets rather contentious. Check it out on her Twitter.

The BBC report says that counties will go back to their members to discuss. With the season ending next week how will that happen? Also I am amazed at the hypocrisy of Yorkshire whose executives have stated at every members forum that they would vote against yet are bought off by the offer of some cash. Cash that is to be squandered on another unneeded new stand. I smell the hand of Graves forcing them to vote that way or he will call in his debt.

I would urge any member of a county club - whichever side of the argument they might favour, and particularly for those who need enlightenment about exactly what is being proposed - to contact their Chief Executive Officer and ask for an immediate statement of a genuine, open consultation process, detailing the facts, the timescales, and the operational implications of the proposals. That should be conducted quite unemotionally and without recourse to hyperbole. That is what the CEO is for, not to posture and splutter emotionally as some board members have been known to do.

The following sent by email today. Others are free to borrow the format if they wish.
Dear Zac Toumazi
I am a member of Sussex County Cricket Club. From media coverage I understand that yesterday the county clubs agreed to proceed with an option from the ECB that will involve the formation of new sides to compete in a T20 League, perhaps from 2018. I also understand that the non-disclosure agreement surrounding this and other proposals has been lifted so that the counties “will now take the proposal to their memberships, and the PCA to the players, before the decisive vote by the ECB board in October.” (source BBC website).
I applaud this and will welcome the opportunity to read the proposal and to hear the Sussex Cricket Ltd views on what they believe it will mean for them operationally. There has been much emotional press speculation and commentary about this issue and it is right that there should be an open and impartial consultation process based on the facts and informed by the professional appraisal of Sussex management in the interests of their members.
Will you please send me details of the consultation process as soon as possible, including any planned public meetings or formal voting procedures, as well as evidence?
Yours sincerely

Yours sincerelyNo direct reply so far, but here is the Sussex Statement www.sussexcricket.co.uk/news-1/sussex-cricket-and-proposed-domestic-restructureGood to see that "Sussex Cricket will continue to participate in this process in a constructive way." Too many commentators on this issue seem to regard defence of the status quo as a kind of wrecking-ball to release on any attempt to build a new structure that could benefit the game. However it is very disappointing to see that "taking the proposals to their memberships" (BBC report) and to "extend the discussions and get valuable input from players, members and other key voices across the game" (Graves) is interpreted by Sussex as an opportunity to indulge in more top-down, need to know stuff: "Further information will be released to our Members and supporters when it is available." Mr Toumazi, it isn't acceptable to "release information" to us: we pay your wages, we are shareholders in the club. It is our right to be involved fully in decisions that concern us and we need to be properly informed and not to be patronised.
