Quality performance again from the bowlers, carrying the team really. We have the best T20 attack in the land, without Fizz, in my view. Hopefully we're smart and recognise this immense strength, keep it together, give the final berth to any of the triplets and get the right two overseas next season. They are not a bowler, or an all-rounder, but a batter and a keeper who can come in at six and hit boundaries. I have recognised this in my quest for brilliance - for Sussex, it's too late for me. Sussex will hopefully read my script. But that's next year. Today, we will surely win this, even as fragile chasers.

The whole game has changed on one rubbish umpiring decision. Who allowed a Policeman to become an umpire? Machan given out despite the ball pitching outside leg stump! Machan getting dropped from the championship team seems to have given him a much needed kick up the arse!
Absolute rubbish from Sussex. 14 runs in 5 overs in a T20 game is pathetic. Hampshire didn't win the match Sussex lost it!

New lows, again. This game turned out very apt to my last post. After Machan we have nothing, Jordan ain't no six and our Portuguese Kiwi Saffa, who is a local lad, is shot with the bat. They say Taylor was starved of the strike but he faced 47 balls for his 46 - 49 off 47 would have won us the game, not too much to ask you'd think.
Didn't like the way several of our players were laughing at the end either. Moaning about a wide that wasn't called too - p**s poor Wright. Bowlers must be wondering what they gotta do.

There is a distinct lack of professionalism currently at all levels within the club. Certainly major changes in personnel in the backroom team are needed in the winter.

I got in from watching Kent execute the perfect run chase v Surrey at Tunbridge Wells - and the 5.30 start there meant that when I got home I was able to take in the second half of the Sussex innings on the BBC commentary and hear what sounded like one of the most patehtic run chases in T20 history.
When I tuned in after 13 overs, Sussex needed 44 runs with seven wkts in hand!!!
How is it possible to screw up from such a position of strength, especially against a pair of ingenue bowlers I've never heard of called Griffiths and Weal?
Something has gone horribly wrong and Wright has sadly added to the problem. We thought his return to fitness would galvanise the side. Instead it seems the pressure is destroying his own game for he is sadly having the worst season of his career. Since his return I think he has passed fifty once.
We are now on one of those losing streaks again - one win in ten games across all formats.
Feel sorry for Phil Salt, who is having a nightmare start to his first XI career. In order to prosper young batsmen need to come into a confident side and be nurtured by the senior pros around them setting a good example. With the exception of Taylor, that just doesn't seem to be happening. Every other batsmen in the side is struggling for form and/or consistency.
And how Cachopa is prefered to Ben Brown is just mind-boggling...

Yeah, but major change is never going to happen until there is a change of leadership. You know that as well as I do... Theresa May has come in and swept out Osborne, Gove, Whittingdale, Morgan etc.. We have Jim May and Buggin's Turn...

Good side, right side - of the squad. Cachopa's the man in and that's that, I like the continuity at least. I'd like to have seen Garton in but Archer is an exciting prospect too, so fair enough. Archer's impressed me and with Garton and Whittingham too there's at least that to be happy about from our attack, for now and the future. These three seem to be something decent to progress with and build around, from my limited vision. Not confident about chasing again, we've done it poorly so far. At least we didn't choose to. This is must win, we look considerably stronger on our favourite surface, paper. Hopefully we can be on that strange thing they call grass as well. Boom Boom booms, and then goes quickly, as usual. Yep, Cachopa's the man. The man you would include in any losing side.

Dawson better score big for Hampshire as he is already responsible for the run outs of Alsop and Afridi. Whoever allowed the vuvuzelas in the ground deserves to be shot! Get on with the game! This was my family's first game this season, we sat at the back of the Herbal Life stand gritting our teeth as all the kids and quite a few adults around us blew on those **** horns, one lad two rows in front just had his fingers in his ears, poor kid. Certainly spoiled the evening even before we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Hampshire didn't have Vince, Adams, Carberry, Berg, Crane, Edwards, McLaren, Sammy, Smith, Topley or Wood and yet they still beat us!

Never thought I'd see Salt sell a wicket so cheaply.

Sussex on the field certainly aren't enhancing the club's efforts to block an eight team, city-based T20 EPL on the grounds that the Sharks do not deserve to be excluded from an elite tournament!

We have one of the best bowling attacks in the country with another 3 younger quicks making big strides in Whittingham, Garton and Archer. What we don't have is a batting group of the same caliber. Unless we now bring in someone to replace Taylor plus another top order batter we will see more of what we saw last night. Our bowlers put us in a position of an easy win which any other county would have walked but our batting is so fragile that after Nash or Wright go the rest are stuck in the crease unable to play their natural game for fear of losing their wicket knowing that there's nothing to come in bellow them.
Bugger the budget, we need to spend money now on players who will help us back to winning ways, this is the only way to stop the malaise.
Our club needs its membership, the membership need to see a certain standard of cricket. Spend money on the CRICKET team and you'll see the membership happy to support you. Stop *****ing around with building fancy office units etc. If you haven't got a cricket team, you haven't got a cricket club.
It's not the taking part that counts, it's the winning!

It is, and it's what he was saying earlier in the season. There are absolutely no signs whatsoever, of Sussex even starting to get things right
