Talbot's commentary really is a bit naff isn't it? I spent the evening switching between the Kent and Sussex commentaries and dear old Bruce was pretty out of touch. But not as purblind as the two quite manic Radio Kent commentators who claimed Kent had proved themselves to be the best T20 team in the country last season and every other county was "frightened" of them. All this said apparently with a straight face while describing Kent's seventh defeat in 13 games by 33 runs and with the worst NRR of all 18 counties. Their ignorance was compounded by praising Tredwell for "coming back so strongly after being lent out for an entire season to another county." I think that was a reference to the three or four weeks he spent at Sussex. They then said "Stevens has chopped the ball over the wicket keeper's head for runs" when he had been clean bowled and the ball was actually ricocheting off the stumps. Risible... Glos, Glam and Middx go through. Fourth place between Essex, Surrey and Sussex

Wow Borderman, that sounds quite painful to listen to. Are you sure they were awake and at the right ground? Also how can anyone come to to conclusion that Kent are the best T20 side in the country when they are so low in the table and didn't progress from the quarterfinals last year? I want whatever they are smoking.

Still an outside chance to get into the 4th spot but is dependent on us winning against Glamorgam, and results of other matches going our way. Taylor a huge loss and no one to replace him. Finch in the side but came in after Archer? Fizz should have opened the bowling to apply pressure from the start but they got off to a flier and always looked as if they were going to win. Some strange captaincy decisions throughout and another dissapointing performance from Wright. Good to see Cachopa regain some of his 2014 form but not enough to renew his contract. Very dissapointing performance last night and for most of the season. Still at least the women/girls have a nice new training facility and the corporate fat cats have lovely new offices to sit in.

Glos, Glam and Middx go through. Fourth place between Essex, Surrey and Sussex And Kent. Not with the worst run rate in the comp, even if they finish 4th= on points! As the cricinfo report put it, the game between Kent and Essex was "a night when one campaign would be reignited and another shelved." Has any side ever qualified with a negative NRR? Kent's stands at a colossal 0.548 and they have now conceded an eye-watering 2265 runs in the course of this year's competition. Even Sussex have only conceded 1721 and the parsimonious Glamorgan attack has only conceded 1472... Again as cricinfo put it, last night left Kent fans "lamenting a season in which a side that promised so much has delivered so little." A lament with which Hoveites may well feel some empathy!

Sussex are going to miss out on qualification due to not being able to chase down 135 in 20 overs against Hampshire at Hove.

Sussex are going to miss out on qualification due to not being able to chase down 135 in 20 overs against Hampshire at Hove. Maybe they won't beat Glamorgan next week, either - bearing in mind it'll be off the back of a meaningless 50 over match the day before.

Fb,
As BM suggests, Sussex still have a faint outside chance of 4th place if results go their way but they must win every game now. Lose against Glamorgan and "that's it folks!"
