Why has Garton been dropped despite taking seven wickets in the last two games?

Nash, Salt, Joyce, Wright (c), Finch, Jordan, Brown (wkt), Briggs, Beer, Shahzad, Archer
Somerset won the toss - so not Wright's fault this time that Sussex will be chasing. Not that it ever used to be a problem with the 40 or 50 over versions of white-ball cricket. Sussex are stiill a batsman short, though. Machan seems to be unfit, having recently Tweeted about a visit to receive an injection that he hopes will work. Including Cachopa in the squad and then disregarding him in favour of a second spinner doesn't inspire much hope that his form has returned, and I worry that when we start playing serious cricket again, without Ross Taylor the pattern of draws will be converted into defeats.
On edit: Clarification of Machan's injury
Matt Machan @mattmachan 16h16 hours ago Long day to London and back. Hope the jab works and I'm back soon 💉👍🏻#fingerscrossed
Adrian Harms @adrianharms 3h3 hours ago @mattmachan hope recovery goes well Matt what's the injury ?

Any chance of Archer being given his own name and shirt number?

Any chance of Archer being given his own name and shirt number? Innit. Been a one-day regular for the last three weeks, how difficult is it to print a name and number on his shirt for Christ's sake - are we cost cutting?
Dunno why we're not playing the next couple of yoots - H-P and Haines. May as well now we're nowhere in this thing. What's the point playing Joyce now, really?
Why don't we give Whittingham a few games in this form too? There's no point not, we know what Shahzad's gonna do. One good thing from this miserable season is that all the youngsters have shown up one time or another. Frankly, potentially finding three young seamers in the space of a few months is miraculous. Our youth are our season, and again today, we're on a roll and we're out of this anyway, play them.
This season could be the time to check out Machan as an opener in this form. Wright and Nash seem to be furthering themselves away from it and we know he'll get quick runs. Try it.
Taylor HH? Like S&F, you are dreaming about Taylor's woeful performances for Sussex in the CC. Thank Christ he's gone, now we can get an OS we actually need, if we're bothered about a late charge.

What XI would you have played Fraudster?
Machan (c) Salt Finch Cachopa Hudson-Prentice Haines Beer Archer Garton Briggs Whittingham
To be honest there isn't probably much point Joyce, Wright, Nash, Brown, Jordan and Shahzad playing in this game.
Trescothick saying 237 is probably not enough. He hasn't seen us bat!

Another failure for Salt, a stupid run out for Finch (where was the dive?) and another stupid shot from Wright. First ball for Nash. Joyce out lbw. Brown and Jordan caught behind to leave Sussex 95-7 which is absolutely pathetic.
A couple of the players spending too much time on social media sharing their ignorant and ill informed political views and too little time in the nets practicing their batting. Get the kids in! If we fixed matches now no one would notice the difference because our batting performances are so abysmal. Where is the batting coach?
Team for the Kent game
Machan (if fit otherwise Christian Davis) Salt Finch Cachopa (cap & wk) Hudson-Prentice Haines Archer Beer Briggs Garton (if fit otherwise Sakande) Whittingham

All this talk of a batting coach, what do you really think he could do? Don't you think the players themselves should be capable of looking how they have performed? Or is that asking too much? They can watch current players, Joe Root for example. Or am I being stupid? I've been listen to Trescothic he was saying he was working with Tom Abell to sort things out earlier in the season. Are our players unwilling or incapable of a) doing this, b) too selfish c) they don't ask?
Somerset don't have a batting coach according to the web site.
It's not difficult to ask someone, is it?
