This floodlit game is sure to catch the crowds. At issue: can Sussex impede Kent's advance to the quarter-finals? Can we achieve a win in this competition for the first time since 12 June? Will we avoid conceding 2000 runs in the season? Can we halt this dreadful cycle of poor selections/poor batting form and give the young players something to work with?

No no and no.
I'd play 11 bowlers, they showed what they could do yesterday and would have got across the line if the batters hadn't balls it up in the first 20 overs.

What a relief when this tournament finishes. Every further loss is a slap in the face for Sussex CCC and their supporters. I am fed up hearing the same ol' questions from media colleagues and friends, "What's happened to Sussex? What's going on? Why are they playing so badly?" It's become humiliating.
Cricinfo has described 2016 as "A miserable season for Sussex." I think that's generous. Now it's time for Mark Davis and the senior batsmen to redeem themselves via the remaining Championship matches.

Cricinfo has described 2016 as "A miserable season for Sussex." I think that's generous. Now it's time for Mark Davis and the senior batsmen to redeem themselves via the remaining Championship matches. I think we're all totally fed up with asking these questions. When the **** is someone going to explain what's going on? On the one hand, the vice chairman has explained to us that we should all be grateful for the Robbo legacy, which has left the club in such fine fettle. On the other hand, Matt Prior tweets "There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes that people don't know about. The results are not good enough we all know that but there has had to be a huge amount of rebuilding from the last 3 years or so. Mark Davis is the right man but he needs support from everyone around him and believe that he is putting the right things in place." Surely they can't both be right. I am fed up with the way the club's representatives try to talk like politicians whenever they're interviewed. The club is presenting itself in the worst possible light, both on and off the field. What exactly are the problems and who is going to put things right? PS. The tone of Matt Prior's latest tweets (compared to those a few days earlier) tempts me to suggest that someone at the club had a word in his ear - "I say, Matt old boy, it would help the cause if you could perhaps send out a few supportive tweets. You know how difficult things are at the moment."

Salt Davis Finch Cachopa Wright Wells Hudson-Prentice Robinson Beer Garton Sakande Not that it makes very much difference, but at least gives a run-out to some players who haven't featured or are back from injury.

Wells ? No guarantee he'll score a scoring shot even in this format. Cachopa? Come on!

Delayed start - scheduled for 13.30 but not promising at the moment, though brighter weather later,

Captain's innings & Davis scored all his runs last week. Or highlights the difference between first and second team cricket.

182 runs is under par. Openers unlucky as the ball was rearing up viciously at the Sea End. Another solid game from Finch but he needs to score faster. Shame HP couldn't achieve his own 50.
Kent in good form and they could win this in 30 overs. Over to you Sussex bowlers. Bowl as well as against Somerset and we have a chance.
