Good from Finch and Hudson-Prentice. In Finch's defense we were 5-3 and 73-4.

Just the seventeen extras so far.

Just the seventeen extras so far. Yes, not good, but I don't think leg byes are necessarily a reflection of poor bowling or fielding. BTW, this Kent innings is in danger of being a very boring run 'chase'. It often happens in 50 over cricket after a low 1st innings score. Still, the spectators have a fine sunny evening to look forward to!

Thank goodness that 50 over tournament is over. Onward to next season and a fresh start. I bet a friend Kent would win within 30 overs. I was two overs out.
Meanwhile, Mark Robinson was at the ground, discreetly tucked away in the 'Cricketers Pub', enjoying a meal with his family. Do you think he feels any guilt, handing over a side to his No.2 of 10 years - a team which needs rebuilding from the ground up - or does he view it as the nature of professional sport? Not so much "The Robbo Legacy" but "The Davis Disinheritance".

And Coles returning from his suspension made all the difference: what price Kent for the 2nd division championship if they can keep him onside for the rest of the season?

So a bit like Alex Ferguson passing on his legacy to his preferred successor at exactly the same time as his ageing squad needed an overhaul? Walking away when you know when your luck is about to turn is all about timing - perhaps Robbo timed it to perfection...

Robinson left Sussex in a much better state than Fergie left Man Utd in, no question. I'm pretty critical of Robbo, but not for that. And judging by all the predictions about where Sussex would finish this season on this board, neither should anyone else be. What was your prediction S&F?
Again S&F you are harsh, this time on Finch - it was 5-3. He might have scored quicker but then Kent might have needed only 80 to win. I know you know all there is to know about Wright's favourite holiday destination or Nash's favourite toothpaste but I often wonder what the hell you know about actual cricket. Well done to Finch and H-P, another lad who should be featuring more.

If Sussex had beaten Kent tonight, Surrey would have gone through, but having seen the side we put out they probably knew the game was already up. Are there no competition rules to prevent this type of occurrence?
