In a idle moment, I calculated the batting averages by batting order. It makes interesting(ish) reading.
1. Batsman no.2 - 55.5 2. Batsman no.7 - 51.4 3. Batsman no.1 - 49.0 4. Batsman no.3 - 40.3 5. Batsman no.6 - 37.1 6. Batsman no.4 - 28.3 7. Batsman no.8 - 27.4 8. Batsman no.9 - 23.1 9. Batsman no.5 - 22.7 10. Batsman no.10 - 12.8 11. Batsman no.11 - 9.8 Extras 19.1
Two little facts - no.7 would have won if Ben Brown had batted at 7 at Bristol in the last game. No.4 would have plummeted below Batsman no.5 if Ross Taylor hadn't scored 142 at Tunbridge Wells.
It confirms what I was thinking really - we usually start well, then crumble, then we may or may not recover.
