England shouldn't begrudge us four overs from Jordan, if he had played for them he'd have bowled 30 odd. Bowlers need to bowl, he should play in the next one too but England are weird ain't they.
Don't think the Axe-Man should get the chop after one bad game but he's young and local so even after a good game he's at risk. I'd go for CP's team I think, but swap Finch and Machan - and Beer should bat higher than Arafat and Piolet on form, so after Jordan.
Hey hey hey! I'm from Weymouth, sort of, it's a lovely place, sort of, and it's not full of halfwits who make lots of misakes, sort of. Now begonner ya - sort of.

Kent name a 13 man squad: Rob Key (c), Adam Ball, Daniel Bell-Drummond, Sam Billings (w), Alex Blake, Mitch Claydon, Fabian Cowdrey, Charlie Hartley, Ben Harmison, Sam Northeast, Adam Riley, Darren Stevens, James Tredwell
No Doug Bollinger, who after a promising start has turned out to be an injury-prone signing and misses his sixth match of the season. Without him there is no venom in the attack, although Kent will be stronger in the field where his efforts make Monty Panesar resemble Jonty Rhodes.
It will be interesting to see if both off-spinners play as Riley has been left out of a few T20 games recently and Tredwell's spin twin could be the unorthodox left-arm stuff of Cowdrey...
Despite being skittled by Sussex at Canterbury for 114 in the first fixture, Kent's batting is much their stronger suit in this competition: the top six have all scored half-centuries in this year's T20 Blast and I read somewhere that their bowlers have conceded more runs per over than any other side in the group.
Both sides are in poor form (Kent one win in their last eight games, Sussex two wins in their last eight) which makes it unusually hard to predict how this one might go. One stand-out performance by Wright or Jordan, or Key or Stevens, will probably be enough to settle the outcome.

This should be a really good night financially for the Club. Advanced tickets have sold well with a strong contingent of expected Kent supporters helping to swell the numbers. The Sussex CCC twitter says: "There are still a limited number of tickets remaining for tonight! Available over the phone until 1pm (08442640206) or in person afterwards!" The match is being broadcast on SKY and the Club are asking spectators to create a sea of blue via either wearing their Shark or Albion shirts. In fact, Sussex are so keen on this idea they will be handing out Sharks blue T-shirts at the ground as well as asking for your help in the south west stand to spell out the word Sharks to the watching public. The weather should behave itself. The present Hove drizzle ends early afternoon with fair conditions forecast this evening. There is the added excitement of Jordan returning to the side. One wonders who he will replace, Liddle or Hatchett? The only downside is even if Sussex beat Kent tonight, which is quite possible, will this still keep them in contention for 4th place? Meanwhile, the Sussex Cricket Board tweet: "NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN! Reward YOUR CLUBS volunteers for their hard work - details & forms here: www.sussexcricket.co.uk/volunteers.htm'Embracing the Community'

This rain needs to shift soon as the ground will be sodden after the last couple of days.

Is it still raining in Hove? 30 miles away in the Weald, it has hardly stopped for the last two days; but I was hoping we were on the edge of the rain belt and Hove was fine. Sussex twitter feed claimed a few hours ago that it was dry and "looks fine for this evening" (followed by the exclamation mark that seems to have taken the place of the full stop in everything the club tweets). But maxh seems to be suggesting diffferently. Can someone tell us definitively if it is raining or not down there? If there is any doubt I'm thinking I might now stay home and if the game goes ahead watch it on Sky Sports...
Very naughty comment on the Kent messageboard, btw, asking "Anyone know which two Sussex players are playing for us this time?"

Thanks, ricky. In view of your damp tidings, I think Sussex has just lost a spectator and Sky Sports has gained a viewer this evening...

There's been spells of pretty heavy stuff too. It's not like there's any warmth or sun to help with the drying either.

I'm not impressed with the Sussex twitter account. This morning somebody tweeted the question: What does the weather look like for tonights game?” Sussex replied: "Dry at the minute and looks fine for this evening!"
Since then there have been five further messages from the club, Zac and even Sid The Shark all channelled via the Sussex twitter feed exhorting people to come along without any hint that there is rain about.
Perhaps it will stop and all will be fine by 7pm; but surely the club has a duty to be upfront if it has been raining for much of the day ? #irresponsible

This is where marketing outweighs morality, and direct honesty towards customers is thought to be naive. There was the occasion a couple of seasons ago, when the spring rains ruined the first part of the season. In the middle of the wettest spell since time began, and with the outfield soaking wet, someone dragged Michael Yardy out to the middle of the ground at a point when there was some blue sky around. The resultant picture was posted on the club's website the day before a match, with the assertion that "the sun's out" - come to the match tomorrow! Needless to say, rain prevented any play the following day. Does anyone else remember this? Bear in mind that the marketing department treats us as punters (or 'customers' at best) - not as club members. On that basis, I now assume I'm being told the truth, but not necessarily the whole truth. Caveat emptor, I'm afraid.

Stopped raining at 15.00 and the ground is beginning to dry! With 4 hours to go before play is scheduled to start I think we will see a whole match. Rather see it live than on tv anyway.

Much better from Sussex twitter: "It's been raining after lunchtime at Hove but hopefully we've seen the last of it now, forecast still looks okay for later on!"
Honesty and optimism makes for a good combination.

Sussex 14 man squad is named - no RHB but Cachopa is included. To be honest, I think it's less of a squad amd more a list of everyone who is fit!
from: WAT Beer BC Brown (wkt) C Cachopa HZ Finch LJ Hatchett CJ Liddle CJ Jordan MW Machan CD Nash (capt) SA Piolet LWP Wells LJ Wright Yasir Arafat SAA Zaidi
