Good to see three div two batsmen in England's top seven today - Duckett, Moeen Ali and...er, Ben Stokes.
And Vince would make it four if Kent get their devious way and sneak into Div One via legal action at Hampshire's expense!

Bizarre comment from Moeen Ali that Bangladesh need to "show more respect" when they take a wicket. It's a cricket match not a funeral, Mo! It comes straight after the publication of Stokes' ghosted autobiography in which he launches into Marlon Samuels for ...lacking "respect". England players should stop demanding "respect" when they get out or are smashed around the park and concentrate on sorting out their game. Especially Moeen Ali - 0-101 and scores of 6 and 4 so far in this series. And just 3 wkts in his last seven ODIs for England... All this lecturing the opposition and demanding "respect" risks taking us back towards the culture of entitlement that flourished under Flower and which, as we saw in Australia, can blow up spectacularly. Below: Ben Stokes gets a polite and silent lesson in "showing respect" after letting rip a volley of expletives at Mitchell Starc:

I don't really want to ridicule Moeen Ali, but I cannot resist posting this from another message board about his cockeyed interview, because it did make me smile:-
Man with 10 runs and no wickets in 2 games thinks team who have won six 50 over series on the trot could crack under pressure.

Fascinating that there are five Div Two batsmen in England's top seven today - Duckett, Vince, Billings, Stokes and Moeen Ali.
Add in Jake Ball and there are six Div Two players against five from Div One.
I know it's slightly distorted in that three of the six Div Two players were relegated and actually spent 2016 in Div One. But even so, it's an intriguing stat and I wonder if it has ever happened before?

Pure speculation for the First Test, though it is equally possible that Ballance would come in instead of Hameed and there will be calls for Buttler. I don't think Ansari will play yet, unless Ali or Rashid are injured, and either of Ball orFinn would only play if four pace bowlers are selected. I have a feeling this is going to be the start of a difficult winter for England and I doubt if we will get through to the 5th Indian Test without some major shake-ups.

Hameed is your traditional opening bat, whilst Duckett probably has a more adaptable game.

Yes I thought of that, but suspect the bitter experience of Cook/Compton would probably ensure a dasher opening with Cook and Hameed (mercifully) taking the stabilising place of Ballance. As I say, probably all rubbish and we will play two wicketkeepers four would be spinners and a lucky dip for the rest!

As Cook is not on twitter and therefore not supplying updates on his wife's pregnancy every two minutes, has there been any news on when he is getting to Bangladesh? I would presume that it is not exactly an easy trip at short notice.

From Will Macpherson, rapidly making a name for himself as one of the more perceptive of the younger generation of cricket writers, on cricinfo www.espncricinfo.com/bangladesh-v-england-2016-17/content/story/1062083.html"Alastair Cook hopped off a plane at Chittagong Airport on Monday afternoon, back in time for his 134th Test match, which will make him England's most-capped player, overtaking Alec Stewart."

Cook Duckett Root Hameed Bairstow Stokes Ali Woakes Rashid Broad Batty Reports from Cook's press conference and off-the-record briefings in Chittagong suggest you have ten of the eleven places correct. The only detail that is wrong is that Ballance will play and Hameed will not. Batty will play his first Test in 11 years. I'm sure hhs will tell us - and I shall be fascinated to hear - if there are any players who have gone longer between Test appearances. I think Bobby Simpson went ten years between Tests (1967-68 to 1977-78). Brian Close I believe went nine years (1967 to 1976). Anyone else?
