Priory Park is home to the Chichester club of the same name, who play in the Sussex Cricket League. The ground was used by Sussex for first class games sporadically until 1950. It is now in the news because of the discovery of the footings of major Roman buildings, perhaps an entire street, quite splendidly preserved because "The only reason they have survived is because they are under a park that has never been built on,” said James Kenny, Archaeologist at Chichester District Council.

There were some amongst us at Kent who felt not enough effort was made, on the site of our splendid new OAP apartment block on the boundary at St Lawrence, to check that St Augustine was not buried beneath the site. Indeed, I heard foolish speculation that enquiries had been made on eBay about the cost of buying a skeleton to inter there. There must have been no bats or great crested newts either, alas, and so the development proceeds apace. Priory Park win the cigar though. The discovery of Roman villas beneath the outfield must be a guarantee that no development will occur there for years and years. The only drawback is having to endure Sir Tony Robinson and his hirsute friends shattering the peace with their diggers between overs.

During an earlier stage of the redevelopment didn't they find a burial site containing the bones of lepers from the adjacent St Augustine's monastery, which had housed a leper's colony in the 13th century?

There was some confusion over whether it was the bones of lepers or a plague pit. Nothing too alarming. www.kentnews.co.uk/news/ancient_burial_site_found_at_kent_s_hq_1_1039898

There was some confusion over whether it was the bones of lepers ... Disappointing to see you parroting the club's slang term for members. Besides, the Kent Cricket Legacy Programme didn't even exist back then.

Well that's freedom of movement for you. No good ever came of it.
Incidentally, I think you may have hit upon a good name for a trans-Weald T20 franchise there.

I swear that bloke was sitting in front of me at a match at St Lawrence last year. Hasn't changed a bit.
