The finals of the women's T20 tournament will be played at Hove on 1st September. www.sussexcricket.co.uk/news-1/womens-the-1st-central-county-ground-to-host-kia-super-league-finals-dayThere will also be a group stage game between the Vipers - the Southampton based franchise - and Yorkshire Diamonds at Arundel on 26th August. Super League got respectable gates last year, not disgraceful but far from the real breakthrough that the Women's BBL seems to have made in Australia. It is good to see that there is more coverage by Both Sky Sports and BBC Radio, but it looks as if this tournament will build in favour incrementally rather than with the kickstart that IPL and the men's BBL have applied, and to do that it needs constant exposure. There isn't any competition from either of the Sussex first or Second elevens at the end of August - Sussex are playing Glamorgan at Colwyn Bay - so it might be a good opportunity for those who haven't seen the women's game live to come along and watch.

This is good news. I've found the top level women's matches well worth watching over the past couple of years, so I'm looking forward to seeing the matches being played in Sussex. For those who haven't watched it before, why not give it a go? You might be surprised at the entertainment value it provides.
