A second thrilling game taking place now, though much less one-sided than the First Test. It looks as if the use of DRS in India has really spiced up the contest. In the first game Kohli appeared naive and uncertain, but at Bengaluru in the second innings it is Australia who have stumbled, with what could be the key wicket of S Marsh being give away needlessly for fear of losing a review. The important thing is not always how many reviews are left, but which one is the right one to call, and recognising when the timing is critical.
Beyond the specific issues of this match it looks as if the introduction of DRS worldwide has been the single most positive advance made in Test cricket for 50 years, bringing about closer contests, re-introducing the spinner and equipping captains with another toolkit.
On edit: In the 40 minutes since I wrote that Australia have stumbled into the full, headless chicken Trent Bridge mode, with wickets tumbling., just as they appeared to have rediscovered themselves as a strong Test side. Still, the motivation from losing this game could make the 3rd Test a thriller.
