James Taylor (Nottinghamshire, capt), Jonny Bairstow (Yorkshire), Ravi Bopara (Essex), Steven Finn (Middlesex), Stephen Parry (Lancashire), Harry Gurney (Nottinghamshire), Alex Hales (Nottinghamshire), Craig Overton (Somerset), Jason Roy (Surrey), Ravi Patel (Middlesex), Tom Smith (Lancashire), James Vince (Hampshire), David Willey (Northamptonshire).
Andy Flower returns to manage/coach the squad. Don't know if he's bringing his recipe book with him.
Poor old Steve Finn - just when he was starting to put behind him the nightmare of Flower and Australia.

One sees the influence of the selectors and national coach in this squad!
How can a team 2nd from bottom in the championship have so many England potentials? Amazing isn't it? (Kerrigan, Parry, Smith, Butler)
No Lyth? No Stoneman? Both score well at the top. Why Hales, what's he need to do? Ditto Bopara.
Why Parry? Hasn't got a wicket!
Patel? Can't bat, can't field! Always thought Fraser would pick his own. Not bad for worst 20/20 team, mid CC. Obviously not what you do, but who you know? Back to the good old mates days when England were cannon fodder. (Finn, Morgan, Robson, Patel)
At least it looks like a 2nd team, with a few exceptions.

Some they want to have a look at (Smith, Patel, Overton, Roy, perhaps). Some they want a second look at (Parry, Vince). Some they want to check on their progress (Finn,Hales). And some they want to reassure that they have not been forgotten (Taylor, Bopara, Bairstow). |

My main concern is the man leading the team. I can't see it being a fun filled time for the Lions with Flower in charge and will it put Finn back a notch?

Interesting that Roland-Jones (Middx) gets the call up to play. Another player selected from a county with an England selector as coach/manager. Future England teams selected from only Lancs, Notts and Middx?
Back to the old days, who knows you not how good you are!
Former Horsham overseas bowler Matt Henry bowling out the cream of England Lions!
Sussex never looked him when he was in England! Shame on them!
