Hopefully can regain his fitness. Him and Evans in the middle order for the limited overs stuff seems really promising

Not playing for the seconds today either It does seem strange that he played for Oxfordshire but hasn't played for our 2's if he's on his way back from injury?

He played for Brighton & Hove CC against Preston Nomads yesterday alongside Phil Salt.
Bowled 10 overs for 42 runs and 2 wickets. Batting he scored 23. Phil Salt scored 74*.

Sad news, he was a big talent and only just started to show what he could do. I wish him well for the future.

Sad news but not totally unexpected as I overheard a conservation in front of me where the answer they got from the physio when they asked when Machan was returning said a lot.

Very sad. Let's hope Matt finds a new fulfilling career. I seem to remember he was promoting himself as a Personal Trainer some while ago - maybe this is his new direction? Good luck, Matt.

Yes, so disappointing for the lad. Two years ago, he looked as if he was making a major breakthrough, but since then, despite his best efforts, he hasn't been able to overcome the problem. Good luck Matt, in whatever you decide to do

For me, Machan was the most promising of the Sussex youngster batsmen and had oodles of potential. Very sad, very unfair where, once more, life proves itself to be a lottery; and where professional sport can be a cruel mistress.

Yes, he first came to my notice when him, and a young lad called Thorpe, I think, were two of Sussex representatives in the England U15 set up. He had bags of potential and ability to change a game in a few overs. He was never really used there, but I used to think he'd have made a hard hitting opener, particularly in the the one day stuff
