Anyone else think Kent should be deducted 25 points for producing a pitch with no chance of a result? If Gloucestershire can be deducted 25 points for 25 wickets at Cheltenham on the first day why not when it is the other extreme?

And Hampshire 648/7 playing Surrey, currently at 105/1, but no clear upper limit. Takes me back to 1990 when the TCCB simultaneously reduced the amount of stitches on the ball and insisted on longer days, in a hot summer when the pitches dried quickly and Surrey v Lancs produced 1650 runs for 19 wickets, with Ian Greig making 291. Silly stuff and the best thing in that summer was a Northants medium pacer setting a record (12 innings) for going scorelesss, which must remain an unparalleled example of ineptitude. Name was Robinson, Mark. Wonder what happened to him?

Will they just shake hands and end the match when Northants reach 552 in their first innings?

Have Gloucestershire been deducted 25 points yet? They deserve to be as that wicket was fixed as it was miraculously suddenly much easier to bat on the second day.
Northants need 24 more runs to avoid the follow on after terrific hundreds by Ben Duckett, Max Holden and Adam Rossington.
