joe, I sympathise with your frustration. "Unrest in the dressing-room?" Where have you heard this? Sussex are usually slow starters eg. the Championship this season, so, perhaps, the same is happening in the T20? I hope so. The club hierarchy are expecting Sussex to reach "at least" the QFs, where the team on paper represents our strongest format. We have a new T20 Captain, who is adjusting to English conditions, so that isn't helping; and while the latest trend in the BBL and IPL is to bowl first, on the South Coast, this surely is a mistake as the last two games have shown. Last night, there were nerves, inexperience from the youngsters, and poor bowling and fielding. All of these can be improved on. The sooner the better where our Coach must discover that team cohesion and fast. There are only two conclusions to reach as to why Sussex have been so woeful this season: 1) All the players are rubbish or 2) The coaching staff are rubbish. Captain was out of his depth and made some bad decisions for the second match running. Why bowl first when you are rubbish at chasing? What youngsters? Nash, Wright, Brown, Taylor Evans, Wiese, Jordan, Beer and Briggs can hardly be described as youngsters. I am sorry but I have seen better fielding and bowling in the Sussex Under 10s. We have to sadly face facts that we an extremely poor team.

The white ball cricket game is so different to the four day game. Would it not be an idea to have a different coach for this type of game?

You might be happy with the level of performances over the past few seasons I'm not. I'm sorry but the best rests with the coach. It is either a case that is he is not up to the job or the players which he or his predecessor signed are not up to the job. Either way he has to take responsibility for the demise of Sussex CCC.

Sussex have announced an unchanged squad I hope we don't play the same losing XI as Arundel. So still no Mills Hopefully he will be fit for the dead rubbers later Is he such a big loss? The £1m man who was on the bench for most of the IPL. The man who's reputation rests on one ball bowled at an aging Chris Gayle who stepped outside the line and swung wildly and it knocked out one of the 3 stumps on show? Yes he's quick but he's also very inconsistent and he's always injured. The only time I've watched him live was a T20 at Hove last year when he opened the bowling with a 12 ball over. incidently, I know I keep championing Garton but he was bowling at 90mph on Wednesday night and he's a left armer. Plus I'm betting he's a hell of a lot cheaper than Mills. We've now extended Mills contract for another 2 seasons, I honestly don't think his body will make it that far.

I think Mills is as much entertaining as effective. Last year I went to a few games with nephews, friends children's, etc (my own too old and lives too far away!) and all wanted to watch him. Many had no experience of watching before but enjoyed the 20/20 especially watching him, and how the crowd buzzes when he runs in. To them it wasn't all about one ball. Anything that helps the game appealing, or exciting to younger fans has to be of major importance. Good to hear Garton was reaching those speeds anyhow. Have seen him bowl really well at times but head down and wild when opposition have been targeting him. Still he is young, talented, and learning - hope he stays with Sussex

However, he is not a match winner and ultimately I want to see Sussex win.
