I am afraid I disagree. This would be down to the players not Farbrace. He has very limited options, other than the eleven playing, he has only Ibrahim and Hunt as alternatives. Interestingly though in the seconds this week, centuries for Ward, Rogers and Lenham, fifties for Orr, Ibrahim and Tear and six wickets in the second innings for Currie. 2 new players in and the 3 more he wants and all of a sudden you have a very competitive squad. One thing i really disagree with is Gnarly Old Pro's he was banging on about, id like late 20 somethings approaching their peak. Completely in agreement with your last point, although I genuinely believe Wright will not be a repeat of the Claydon, Meaker and Finn signings and will improve the squad.

Yes he will, but only for 2 years. No longevity with it and thats the only reason why i cant get excited about Wright.

We’d all like 3 new experienced players approaching their peak but we’re setting ourselves up for a disappointment if we really think that might happen. By the way, from my vantage point, nobody still playing county cricket qualifies as gnarly and old!

James Coles is a very promising , and indeed already productive, batsman. I think he will play for England. But he should never have been bowling at the sharp end of a game like this. He can’t take wickets and is easy to pick off. His overs have helped take the sting out of the game.

It’s Leicestershire’s to lose now.

Good God, surely not?!?!?
46 runs required, 3 wickets left. If Leicestershire do win, where does Sussex go from here, unable to even defend 498 runs?
I don't want to think about it. It is too awful to ponder. I would rather be repeatedly stung by nettles.

Is this when the rain rolls in, so we end up with another draw?

Great game. Great win. Loved it. Heated conversation between Farbrace and the umpires at the end. At the start Farbs looked like he was quietly accepting a ticking off, then he must have taken issue with something one of them said. He looked like he was standing his ground. No doubt it due to Sussex’s behaviour on the pitch. Not condoning it but Haven’t the Australians been aggressive for years? I’m fed up with Sussex meekly losing.
