The weather forecast for this game has been rubbish for ages (rain was forecast for the first 2.5 days, with just Sunday afternoon being dry). The forecast has changed this morning to be sunny this afternoon, all of Saturday and Sunday. I didn't get to Hove at all last season, looks like I'll be heading down there this weekend! Never been one to look at forecasts particularly long term ones. I shall be in Curry Corner this afternoon hopefully soaking up the rays with a 4 pack of Cider enjoying the most beautiful sport ever invented. So is there a game of women’s beach volleyball while you wait for the cricket?

We’ve won the toss and bowl but we’ve left out our top wicket taker from last season and play 2 spinners and 2 all-rounders!

Maiden wicket for Seales with a fantastic take by Simpson.

Lamb looks good! I can see why they signed him, he's created more chances than the other bowlers so far.

53 for 1. Do we start to panic yet? :-) Not quite yet….. Only if you’re a secret Middlesex supporter. Meanwhile, Seales bags a second wicket 👍

Hove wicket + Kookaburra ball = draw (I suspect)

You’re testing my memory there but I vaguely remember the geeky glasses! It’s disappointing to hear he was rubbish though. You would have thought the lions tour would have fired him up. If he loses top spinner spot, he needs to take a look at himself. I heard he was massively disappointed Bashir was selected above him for England and where he probably had a point i also think its a big part of his problem is he thinks hes better than what he currently is. Amazing! Hopefully we (England) now have a handful of half decent spinners. So jack needn’t feel so hard done by when he’s not selected for the next test.

Two quick wickets, that’s more like it.

Hove wicket + Kookaburra ball = draw (I suspect) Is that acceptable? Not to me. Boring old Sussex at boring old borefest Hove year after year trying to draw their way to mediocracy. If Sussex win 2 or more games at Hove this season I'll come back on here & bank transfer 1000 Mongolian dollars into each & everyone's account - of you lot. No newbies after today. Wake me up when September ends. (f***ing hate that lefty liberal spoilt rich suburban band by the way. I'll wake them up with my boot up their arse). Kind regards Liquid Fraud

Ironically we’ve had to end the day early because of bad light, you couldn’t make it up!

Ironically we’ve had to end the day early because of bad light, you couldn’t make it up! We should have no say over it it shd be an ecb regulation if you can turn them on turn them on. The moaning about the kookaburra ball is laughable. 292 for 7 is a fair battle between bat and ball. Put the 60+ overs on we've lost and this is a potential great game.

Too many overs lost. Laughable. Umpires not being pragmatic, still had to have a tea yesterday. Why? Not able to start at 10:30. Pathetic. Now to the lights. Sussex have decided not to use them. Why? Because once they have been turned on,you have to leave them on.££££ Even in bright sunshine. Wtf? County cricket doesn't help itself at times. As long as Sussex bat sensible this should be a draw. and by the way the ball is the same for both sides.
