Yeah I reckon we’re in a good position, knock off 2 wickets early to get the max bowling points and try to limit them to under 350. We will need to bat well and pile on the runs to have any hope of a win because of all the lost time/overs. No point commenting on the ball as it’s the same for both teams. Let’s hope for a full days play tomorrow.

I’m not sure whether anyone has interpreted my reference to the Kookaburra ball as moaning but to be clear, it wasn’t meant to be. I was just weighing up the likelihood of different results. It’s hard to see either side winning from here unless there’s an ugly batting collapse. Even if Northants get a substantial first innings lead, I suspect they wouldn’t risk too much of a ‘sporting declaration’ in the second innings. So we’d have to bat really badly twice.

Does Coles bowl left arm spinning into the right hander? Not often you see that as a stock ball

No, he just can't turn it, like all our 'spinners'.
I'm moaning about the pitch only & to double down on it I will give all of you 1 million Mongolian dollars if there are more than two wins at Hove by ANY side, not just Sussex.
That doesn't apply to you though Gordy, I've heard you're already on 25 a year, that's plenty for a Gofer.

3 wickets for Coles and 0 for Carson. Spinner spot debate settled. Play the extra batsman next time.

371 all out. Only 2 bowling points. You would think, apart from Karvelas, that this is our strongest bowling line up. Robinson still looks military medium at best with far too many short wide deliveries, definitely not at his best.

Hunt must be in that equation too Joe, if he wants to play Lamb he has to leave out Carson now

Northants score 38 runs for their last wicket. Why does this regularly happen to Sussex against opponents. A lack of ruthlessness?

too many short wide deliveries. Lamb's solitary wicket came from a short wide delivery (which could have been hit absolutely anywhere!). Rubbish bowling can take wickets.

A wicket can come off any delivery if you’re lucky but if you bowl consistently short and wide you are going to be hit around the park.
