Signed a two year contract with money bags Surrey. Predictable - but you can't blame him. Needs to further his career like any other working person. Further his career my arse. It's all about the money!

He's landed a deal with a prosperous 1st division club in London. This will give him a chance of gaining the England selectors attention if things go well. I'd say that was furthering his career. You would expect Surrey to pay more than Sussex, so he wins all round. Put yourself in his shoes - what would you have done?

Gillespie needs to ransack the Adelaide Strikers again for a Topley T20 replacement. Is Peter Siddle available? A fight between Essex and Sussex for his signature next season? Although, Essex are odds on to win it. Talk about incest. I note Phil Salt is playing for the Strikers in this season's BBL. A good pick for Dizzy. www.adelaidestrikers.com.au/players

Glad we've helped him get back and it was good to see him taking wickets again. Had we won promotion it may have been different! All the best to him.

He did not need to leave Sussex to further his career as Archer has proved that if you're good enough you will be selected by England. The cost of living is significantly more in London. He was lucky to be offered a contract by Sussex at all. Without Sussex he would be flipping burgers on the minimum wage in McDonalds.
I will laugh when he breaks down injured for Surrey next season.
From Domestic 247 Surrey thread:
Topley signs up at Surrey. That's Essex, Hants, Sussex and now Surrey.
Surrey's seam bowling options
1 Morkel 2 S Curran 3 T Curran 4 Dernbach 5 Meaker 6 Dunn 7 McKerr 8 Plunkett 9 Clark 10 Clarke 11 Atkinson 12 R Patel 13 Nico Reifer 14 Topley
While Reifer and Atkinson are unproven and Patel has only really performed once with the ball I still think they will struggle to keep eleven seamers happy. I cannot see Topley getting in the Surrey team.

There was always a risk with signing Topley, that’s probably why we had a chance. We desperately need to find a new ball partner for Robbo, as he carried our attack last season, and we can’t burden him with a similar workload next season. I think it will have to be the Kolpak route.

Middlesex have already gone down the Kolpak route by signing West Indian seamer Miguel Cummins.

JB, now is the time to trust Garton as Robinson's new ball partner. It's a must. Although we certainly need numbers to back them two, Jordan and Wiese up. Young potential though, not 35 year old path blocking Kolpaks. As for Topley, would have been a decent addition but we ain't at a level to compete if Surrey come in. He weren't guaranteed 1st eleven cricket at Sussex either.

In the future, yes, but injury means that he’s not made the progress he’d have hoped for. I see him more, as someone to compete with Jordan for the third seamers role Considering when he did play this season, he was often 4th or 5th seamer, claiming the third seamer slot would be progress. It’s difficult to see where we could find a domestic strike bowler, as there aren’t many available, and the ones that are, are a bit meh. A Kolpak seems our best hope of getting in someone who’s actually better than what we have

Confirmed today, a two year predominantly white ball contract but available for red ball if needed.
Good luck to him, he obviously wanted to go where the money is, just hope he can stay fit.

Greed, pure greed. I wish nothing but, no luck whatsoever. Sussex took him in, helped him recover to play white ball AND red ball cricket (something no-one thought would happen) Then leave for what? More money, yes. Advised by? His ever present over bearing, known for one thing only father? Probably. The 2nd time this has happened, remember how he left Essex? Money & greed. The result? Injury and failure to play. I can't the logic. Opportunity to play or be considered by England playing regularly for Sussex or seating on his arse with the army of Surrey seamers? It should be to play? A loss I didn't think would happen. Shows the class of the man and his father, all announced after the coach had left the country. Save him getting a proper man to man chat with him? The man has class, I can't wish him well for the way handled him self.
