Looks as if he’s using Sussex to get back to fitness. If he does well for us he won’t hang around after this season as I know he wants to play for a London club.
Having said that, when he is fit he’s a good bowler and we’d be stupid not to sign him.
I just hope he can stay fit for us for the rest of the season and we’re not paying him to put his feet up!

Yet another indictment of our playing staff policy under Andrew. How many examples have there been of this? Five? Six?
Purely as a signing it's worth a punt, same with Thomason. The loans, no thanks. Maybe the management, if they're still here, will manage to put a squad together at the correct time of year this winter, rather than the utter shambles we're seeing time and time again right now.

This has been on the cards for a few months so no great surprise, we’ve also had a lot of injuries and unavailability of seamers this season.
I wonder if he’ll replace Hamza and we’ll recruit an overseas batsman....?
But again, I agree with Liquidskin (😳😳😳), recruitment should be done in the off season, not during the season.

He basically used sussex to get himself fit and has decided to piss off. When will Sussex ever learn? Surely it was only a short term contract, and we did get some good performances from him. I'm sure Sussex understood the situation.

The fact he turned down a long term contract makes me think Sussex were expecting him to stay. Plus Sussex have signed an overseas batsman, something they’ve been unable to do, because of bowling shortcomings Reckon the signing of Topley will have convinced them to move for a batsman Now though, they need to find a quality strike partner for Robbo Perhaps the Kolpak route will be our best option

If you think about it, we’ve lost, from our seam bowling stocks in the last couple of years, Archer (to England) Hamza, Whittingham, Sakande and now Topley. The replacements have been, Sheffield, Thomason and Clayden, which has been wholly inadequate

Perhaps he'd originally thought we'd be playing Div 1 cricket next season.

Signed a two year contract with money bags Surrey. Predictable - but you can't blame him. Needs to further his career like any other working person.
