The ECB chairman says, "after a hectic 2019", the counties themselves have been allowed to shape the 2020 season. Just one unspoken caveat: "just bear in mind that you've got to accommodate The Hundred for a peak month in the summer" www.thecricketer.com/Topics/news/counties_have_dictated_the_2020_schedule,_says_colin_graves.html The fixtures are due out by the end of November. Remember, if the fixtures calendar is a dog's breakfast, it will be the counties' fault - not the ECB's!! Why does Colin Graves remind me of Boris Johnson?

From Domestic cricket247 messageboard:
Picked up from notes on a members' forum on the Essex Outfielder site:
Fixture pattern for 2020: As expected, the CC will be crammed into the extremes of the season apart from one round in the middle. After the first phase of the CC will come the T20 qualifiers, then a 6 week period for the 100 plus the 50 over comp, then the final phases of the T20 and the 100 and finally the last 3 or 4 rounds of the CC.
Next season's Champion county v MCC fixture will be in Galle, Sri Lanka starting on 24 March.

Extra rounds are needed for some wiggle room. Cheltenham Festival has to be accommodated, teams may have to jump out of a round to play tourists and in past years the first round of Champo has been mixed up with MCCU games which skews it from the start.

Hadn't you heard, flashblade? The 7, 3 and 6 refer to something entirely different. In April/May, there will be 7 ball overs, in June and July there will be 3 ball overs and in August and September, there will be 6 ball overs. It should make the CC more exciting, don't you think? <Exits hastily>

Sad that it’s come to this but I won’t be renewing my membership next year for the first time in 15 years. I’m not paying to sit in coat, hat and gloves in April, May and September dodging the rain and wind. I’d rather pay on the gate for the odd day when the weather is clement.
