Yup Worcestershire are definitely going up.
Northants not so much.
I went last time we played a championship match At wantage road in 2010....Northants won on a decidedly dodgy pitch. It was a messageboard jolly.

Hoping to go Weds, Thurs, Fri, if it lasts that long. No David Willey for them, probably the only decent bowler they have

We're gonnna do these boys whatever side we put out. I think we should be bringing Machan back in, and Beer, and Whacko should get a game instead of Brown - not because Brown's done poorly mind.
What the hell's Jordan gotta do with England any time soon anyway? If there's no England game, and I don't think there is, that is an absolute joke. He's not even first choice in any format right now and is extremely clearly a rhythem bowler.

Machan doesn't seem to be in anybody's minds at the moment, so no change in the batting; an attack supporting Magoffin of Hatchett, Liddle and Zaidi is unbalanced at least on directional grounds, so let us have Lewis coming in. A very much maligned player, he strongly supported our opening 2 wins, and then bowled massively in a stock role when we lost our bearings in late April and May, and he also batted better than any other No 11 in the country and fielded well enough for a man of his age. If we do have ambitions for a surpriae 2nd place then we really have to go all out for every point.
As to Jordan - well, fraudster, Mr Moores has announced that he wants to give all his bowlers a "clear 6 weeks rest" before they go off to Sri Lanka for a one-day tournament this autumn. Why 6 weeks and not 5 weeks, or 3 months, or 9 days is one of those mysteries...but I'm sure that Mark Robinson is using all his influence to protest. Unfortunately that's the deal we all signed up for back in good King Duncan's golden days, that England/ECB takes control, however individually stupid that proves - and I entirely agree with you that Jordan is a rhythm bowler and will spend the first half of the tournament spraying legside wides before it all comes good.

I'm going to trudge up to lovely Wantage Road on Wednesday, unless the weather forecast is ghastly.

Machan has gone to Aus and NZ with Scotland so not available for this game although I doubt he would have been selected anyway. Big prize money for 2nd and 3rd place so Sussex will field strongest team

Liddle plays.

Liddle gets the nod, which is surprising as he's been pretty ineffective in red ball cricket. It shows the paucity of our seam options, a situation that cannot be left unaddressed again this winter

Need to bat well, as that is where we are superior Bowling wise, there isn't much between the two attacks, Magoffin apart

Liddle gets the nod, which is surprising...
It may be a generous gesture from Robinson to show solidarity with Liddle who has been under fire for his below OD performances this season. Giving him a place in the last match of the season and against the weakest batting team in division 1 could do his confidence a world of good. An opportunity to get a fifer, for example.
Robbo is loyal to his players and supports them when things are not going well. One can understand his reasoning.
Either that or Liddle has turned a corner in the 2nds like Zaidi.

Well, that's a very chastening start to our innings.
