Couldn't help a chuckle at this post on the Middlesex Til We Die board about our new recruit:
<With his sense of direction, he'll probably turn up in Southampton. >

It is very likely we could have three young left arm seamers on the staff in 2016 if Garton continues progressing at the rate he has done in the last three seasons.

Hatchett needs to improve on those stats as otherwise he will find himself getting replaced by George Garton who with 77 wickets @ 22 and 738 runs @ 31 in the last three seasons has definitely shown more promise. What, in the first division of the county championship? They're both progressing nicely but are at completely different levels, stages and ages - they're not in direct competition, there's room for both. One thing's certain, we have promising bowlers coming through, despite talk not so long ago that we do not. With Hatchett, Hobden and hopefully Garton that'll be about one every four years. That might sound pants but it's all you need so long as you add the odd decent outsider. The talent is already in Sussex, largely, and we're building well. If someone can just convince Robbo to give Beer a proper twirl we'll be about set.

If Wells did leave what other batsman would you like Sussex to sign? Davies from the Rey?

Davies from the Rey? 1 Wells isn't leaving. 2 we don't need another batsman unless both Rory and Matt prior both need to retire a top seven of wells,Nash,Yardy,Joyce, capocha ,wright ,prior leaves Rory,Machan, finch in reserve as well as ben brown.

Let's hope not, wouldn't want to have to find another opener, I can remember years with us looking for a left handed opener

But only Joyce has done it with any success, and we would surely miss him down the order

Yardy didn't do that bad a job as opener from what I remember. I suspect he'd score a similar amount of runs anywhere in the order. I'm sure Wells will be staying anyway.

I'm sure Wells will be staying anyway. I sincerely hope so. I think he is a more crucial signing to Sussex than Mills or Shahzad.

This is Tymal Mills twitter page. It seems he has a habit of falling in love in supermarket car parks! A decent 6,412 followers which leaving aside Matt Prior (202k), Luke Wright (114k) and Ajmal Shahzad (15.3k) places Tymal in fourth place of Sussex CCC player popularity. His nearest rivals are Ed Joyce (4,669) and Chris Nash (3,042). twitter.com/tmills15This is a feature about his move to Sussex on the ECb website. www.ecb.co.uk/news/articles/mills-enjoying-hove-comforts

RHB doesn't sem to have his own twitter page - but he has his own fan club called The Hamilton-Brownies (started by Surreyites, it seems), who have a Twitter account to praise his performances. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the last tweet on it was in 2013. By the way, hats off to Jonboy. While looking for this thread, I found another Tymal Mills thread from three months ago in which our perceptive talent scout called for Sussex to sign Mills way back on Aug 15. Respect, jonboy. Great call.
