I see Nadine Dorries has finally resigned after being absent from her constituency for several weeks whilst taking the parliamentary salary.
She had a misguided blast at Rishi Sunak on her way out because he pressurised her to go. Love the way she extols her working class credentials (in contrast to Sunak) growing up in a humble home in Liverpool and working as a nurse. But like Gillian Keegan who also grew up in Merseyside and attended state school which didn't lead to university both these opinionated women were quick to ditch their scouse accents. Why? No disputing where Ester McVey was brought up who isn't such a snob to adopt a home counties voice like the former.

archive.li/RPiwIHighlights every deficiency of this awful woman and the shamelessnes and contempt in which she held Parliament, through which her daughters were conveniently employed . A lambasting from this opinionated, overpromoted harridan that Sunak received is far less of a poisoned chalice than an endorsement. Yet I still marginally prefer her to Edwina Currie who also hailed from Liverpool but like Dorries has made every effort to ensure her accent bears no traces of a Merseyside upbringing. Think the Conservatives might just scrape home in Mid Beds if they can split the opposition vote evenly, but that might be wishful thinking. Should be a fascinating by election with the 3 major English parties vying to win.
