Rain, rain go away Come again another day And so, Surrey come to town to face the Sussex Sharks. The meteorologists will know better than me whether the game is likely to take place, but the app on my phone is giving all the wrong signals. After Friday's defeat against Gloucestershire, it would be good to get a positive result against one of the decent sides. There's not much to add to the review for the game at Surrey a week or so ago that lasted all of five overs. It was an exciting five overs in which Roy was caught brillantly by Archie Lenham for a duck, in four of the five overs Surrey scored 25 for 2 and in the other over they scored 28 for 0. How the game would have gone from there we will never know. Let's hope the same isn't the case for this one. In my view, Sussex need a couple of wins to re-establish themselves in the top pack. It's tempting to think that there are some easier games coming up, but T20 games can pivot on one batsman scoring quickly for a few overs and defeats to teams lower in the table are quite common. Another game with shared points? Southern Group table

The weather forecast suggests we will only get the first innings in.
As for the team, I see only one change with Chris Jordan replacing George Garton.

The forecast "now says" heavy rain hitting around 5pm. How that will affect the game, who knows? Tuesday evening also looking very dodgy. Ticket holders may be able to watch the German match, after all.

Rain. For those who like coincidences, Surrey were 53 for 2 when the game was called off at The Oval recently. Today, they leave the field with Surrey on 53 for 1.

Quality of camera from sea end is poor. Whoever is in charge of Sussex media needs a good kick. Not good enough. I know we discussed this before, but when will Sussex learn it makes them look very amateur. Wake up Andrew!!

Sussex fielding below par. Too many extras. Bopara not a happy lad with 8 byes off 2 balls. Body language from fielders jaded. Not nearly enough chirp from Wright.
Mills outstanding again. Put all the others in the shade. Another huge task for batsmen. Will Salt and Head cope with the damp conditions? We shall see.

What a joke.1 ball short of a game. If this is a no result, then the umpires need shooting.

Why were the playing hours extended by an hour when they wouldn't be in a day night game? The playing conditions should be the same regardless of whether it is day or day night game? You could have had a result by playing 10 overs a side.

This has to be “the controversy” of the season. Barely a mizzle and the umpires take the players off at 4.5 overs. One more ball and Sussex would win on DLS if no more play. Umpires leave field with loud boos from home crowd. Even Rob Andrew looks mystified by decision.
For the umpires sake let us hope there is further play. If not their decision could rumble on.
Utterly disgraceful.
Now pouring. Get the lynch mob ready. 😏
